About the role
- Working within our purpose-built facility 70,000 sq. foot manufacturing test facility, our Electrical Lab Technicians perform a vital role in our business to help us inspect micro/electronic components from our customers and suppliers for quality and potential counterfeit items.

- The primary role of the electrical test lab technician is to perform electrical testing of components utilizing test fixtures designed by SMT Corp engineers. This process is completed on 100% of the components in a customer’s order. Lot size can vary from single digits up to 100,000+ components where total test time per lot can range from ≤ 1 hour up to several months. This role requires consistent, efficient, and accurate execution of testing procedures to achieve the through put requirements of our customers.
- Electrical test lab technicians will also perform screening and qualification of components in accordance with MIL-STD-883 and MIL-STD-750.
- On the job training will consist of material handling procedures, electrical test equipment operations, and basic failure analysis.
- The Electrical Test Lab is a part of the SMT Corp counterfeit mitigation testing process which is used to authenticate and screen electronic components. Due to the lack of traceability, SMT Corp utilizes industry standard testing methods such as AS6171 or AS6081 to authenticate the material. As a part of that process, the Electrical Test Lab performs electrical testing to validate that the components meet the original component manufacturer’s specifications and quality requirements
Job responsibilities include:
- Follow electrical testing work instructions as directed by SMT Corp engineers.
- Handling electronic components into and out of test fixtures.
- Observe the results of the electrical testing.
- Sort components based upon the testing outcome.
- Report to SMT Corp engineers when problems arise during testing.
Schedule
- 8 hour shift, Monday to Friday, 4:00pm - 12:30am
- 1/2 hour Lunch
Qualifications
- The role does require a high level of attention to detail, manual dexterity, ability to follow repetitive testing standards, and good eyesight.
- Experience in working within a manufacturing lab environment preferred.
- Ability to work in a ESD and FOD Lab controlled environment.
