The Purpose of This Role


This senior leadership role will oversee and execute the marketing strategy for Snappy Kraken.  Success will require leveraging data and the organization's creative resources to support our brand reputation and revenue growth goals. The role encompasses three main areas of ownership: 1) Demand Generation, 2) Product Marketing, and 3) Brand Marketing. Our value spans both SMB clients and mid-market to large financial enterprises, requiring the ideal candidate to have experience in both segments. 


As the VP of Marketing, you will be responsible for driving growth and establishing the foundation for scalability. This includes maintaining Snappy Kraken’s iconic brand and reputation among financial advisors and thought leaders in the wealth industry. To foster continued SMB growth, you will advance our channel partner strategies, develop repeatable and predictable demand generation processes with measurable funnel metrics, and position Snappy Kraken as a category leader. Additionally, you’ll define and deliver product positioning, messaging, and sales enablement through robust product marketing strategies, analyst relations, and thought leadership initiatives.


This role reports directly to the Chief Revenue Officer and oversees the Demand Generation and Marketing teams.


Primary Role & Responsibilities


  • Manage teams and individuals responsible for Demand Generation, Product Marketing, Brand Marketing, and Events, with a major focus on data driven performance, team development and coaching.
  • Collaborate with Channel Partners and industry influencers to drive awareness and differentiation in the marketplace. 
  • Cultivate relationships with the analyst community, both financial and technical.
  • Work closely with Customer Experience and Sales teams to align marketing efforts with developmental growth goals.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of high-quality content across multiple channels, including websites, SEO, automated campaigns, and content partnerships.
  • Build a vision for the long-term marketing department strategy to move Snappy Kraken upmarket, partnering with the CEO and CRO to to execute on annual and quarterly objectives.
  • Maintain a consistent and appropriate brand image across all initiatives.
  • Manage budgets, set goals, and establish KPIs for the Marketing department.
  • Lead marketing activities impacting OKRs, including lead generation, revenue growth, and sales cycles.
  • Collaborate on marketing campaigns with cross-functional teams.
  • Oversee promotional activities and set discount/promotion strategies in close partnership with Sales and Lead Generation. 
  • Oversee market research and analysis to identify and execute on challenges and growth opportunities including competitive analysis and marketing positioning.
  • Build long-term relationships with employees, stakeholders, and industry influencers.
  • Prioritize internal marketing requests to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.


Primary Qualifications

  • Demonstrated competency in driving marketing initiatives to the mid-market and enterprise segments of the financial industry
  • 8+ years of marketing experience, with a preference for experience selling into the WealthTech or BankTech space including experience leading teams.
  • Preferred experience in a start-up environment with an understanding of the work ethic to succeed
  • Demonstrated ability to drive growth across multiple customer segments (SMB, Mid-market, retail, enterprise)
  • Experience leading teams and transitioning business models, launching new products, or entering new markets (e.g. on-prem to SaaS, SMB to mid-market, entering a new vertical)
  • Experience developing, leading, or supporting channel partner programs, and sales enablement. 
  • Knowledge and experience with Fintech, WealthTech, banking, or financial services industries.

As of November 2024, the expected base compensation range for this position is $160,000 - $205,000 USD / $165,000- $210,000 CAD based on country of residence. Additional bonus of $20,000 - $30,000 USD/CAD. Pay will be based on several factors, such as experience, certifications, location, market conditions, and other business and organizational needs. Snappy Kraken anticipates that the reasonably expected salary for this position could change in the future and retains the right to change or revisit the salary range according to business needs.

The Vice President of Marketing position is a full-time, remote position at Snappy Kraken. Accessibility requirements are dependent on the role but could be expected during standard business hours Monday through Friday. This position is open to any candidates currently residing and eligible to legally work in the United States or Canada.
