Purpose

The Campstore Lead associate is a brand ambassador and key frontline leader for Snow Peak, ensuring an exceptional experience for Campfield guests visiting the Campstore. Reporting to the Campstore Manager, this position supports the daily operations of the Campstore and café while providing guidance, training, and leadership to the team. The Campstore Lead helps drive sales, customer engagement, and operational efficiency, ensuring smooth execution of both retail and food service functions.


Classification

·       FLSA: Non-exempt 

·       Status: Full Time, Benefit Eligible 

Compensation: $22-$26/hr

·       Reports To: Campstore Manager

·       Schedule: 32-40 hours per week. Required availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays

 

Essential Duties

Campstore Operations & Retail Sales

·       Support all daily operations at the Campstore, including food prep, food service, retail support, restocking, inventory replenishment, inventory control, ordering by placing items in shopping carts and letting the manager know what is needed and cleaning.

·       Deliver an exceptional guest experience, answering questions and escalating issues as needed.

·       Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently in alignment with POS procedures.

·       Assist with sales and merchandising which includes display building, of gear, apparel, supplies, and food & beverage.

·       Educate customers on brand history, products, promotions, and events.

·       Increase sales and rentals by engaging customers, asking open-ended questions, and making relevant recommendations.

·       Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment.

·       Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security guidelines.

·       Help train new employees with guidance and support.

Leadership & Team Support

·       Act as Manager on Duty (MOD) when leadership is unavailable.

·       Support onboarding, training, and development of team members.

·       Lead by example in customer service, product knowledge, and operational efficiency.

·       Foster a collaborative, positive, and team-oriented work environment.

Operations & Compliance Support

·       Follow and reinforce opening and closing procedures.

·       Assist with inventory management, restocking, and loss prevention.

·       Support visual merchandising and in-store product displays.

·       Ensure team compliance with food handling, alcohol service, and retail policies.

·       Participate in community events and brand engagement initiatives.

Development Program Participation

·       Engage in Snow Peak’s Leadership Development Program, rotating through specialist roles in Gear, Apparel, Community Outreach, and Sales Optimization.

Additional Responsibilities

·       Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

 

Requirements

Experience & Qualifications

·       2+ years of experience in retail, hospitality, or food service.

·       Experience leading a team

·       Valid Food Worker Card

·       MAST Alcohol Serving Permit (or ability to obtain).

 

Skills & Abilities

·       Extraordinary customer service

·       Excellent problem-solving skills

·       Basic mathematics and cash handling

·       Basic knowledge of operating computers and POS (point-of-sales) systems

Physical Effort

o   Prolonged periods standing

o   Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
