Purpose  

The E-commerce & Digital Senior Manager directs the e-commerce department by supervising the Site Merchandiser while overseeing strategy, tools, systems and processes for websites and digital experiences. They are responsible for the quality of the full digital ecosystem at Snow Peak USA, inclusive of the websites for both our product and experience businesses. This position uses qualitative and quantitative methods to define and deliver on digital strategy by diving deep into customer needs and developing impactful customer journeys. The E-commerce & Digital Senior Manager is responsible for increasing conversion, improving customer experience, and driving e-commerce sales.  They manage projects with a strong working knowledge of digital channels, online conversion experiences, and technology stacks. To be successful, the E-commerce Senior Manager will need to thrive in a collaborative environment, serving as a leader and mentor with strong business acumen, analytical skills, and ability to drive a profitable channel of distribution.

Essential Duties 

Manage E-commerce Operations 

  • Contribute to go-to-market strategies and calendarization with key stakeholders from Sales, Brand and Operations 
  • Collaborate on the execution of digital experiences and campaigns in partnership with the Brand and Marketing teams, who will manage the campaigns directly, including targeted email, SMS, and social, paid media and partner communications 
  • Coordinate with Digital E-commerce Marketing Specialist to drive e-commerce sales through innovative, effective, and cost-efficient marketing/merchandising programs and strategies 
  • Develop and deploy e-commerce sales strategies against product calendar to increase turn and maintain inventory health 
  • Optimize the digital ecosystem and how e-commerce, web, mobile, social, search and channels work together  
  • Leverage Snow Peak Loyalty Program and business intelligence to inform customer engagement and digital marketing strategy 
  • Manage priority initiatives which increase conversion, improve customer experience, and drive sales through a focus on UI / UX 
  • Provide data, input, and thought leadership to other teams (Brand and Customer Service) to support sales initiatives and the consumer journey 

Manage Website Strategy, Merchandising, and Maintenance 

  • Determine the overall channel strategy that produces sales revenue results in partnership with key stakeholders and departmental managers 
  • Deliver and complete day-to-day administration and maintenance of company websites: our direct-to-consumer e-commerce website, our Takibi Restaurant website, and our Long Beach, Washington Campfield website 
  • Develop content strategies and manage the Shopify platform for snowpeak.com 
  • Oversee and maintain content for Restaurant and Campfield websites  
  • Drive the strategic direction of site evolution and support the updating of product pages, landing pages, blog and overall content, ensuring all pages reflect brand identity  
  • Leverage CMS solutions to allow testing and learning through A/B environments 
  • Direct and oversee development resources that ensure all sites are compliant, tools and systems are up to date and strategic initiatives have the engineering support required 
  • Manage Site Merchandiser to merchandise the website, manage product uploads against key launches (new collections, seasonal promotions, etc.), build curated categorical and collection pages, and support all aspects of the site experience 
  • Suggest, manage and test new features to optimize experience and drive conversion 
  • Analyze traffic, conversion and AOV to measure effectiveness of strategies 

 

Lead Department Strategy 

  • Plan and implement strategic objectives that fulfill the mission and the goals of the department efficiently and effectively in collaboration with Leadership Team 
  • Evaluate, improve, and report the efficiency of business processes and procedures to enhance profitability and qualitative results  
  • Establish, maintain, and present reports to stakeholders 
  • Engage in effective feedback systems to monitor and communicate operational and strategic alignment with interdepartmental objectives 
  • Manage departmental budget and profitability metrics 

 

Supervise Team 

  • Manage staff to meet Snow Peak’s expectations for goal accomplishment by overseeing onboarding, training, and continuous improvement paths 
  • Monitor employee work schedules including assignments, training, paid time off, and overtime  
  • Develop employee career pathing by coaching, mentoring, and providing effective performance feedback; inspire a culture of learning and development 
  • Communicate transparently and resolve conflicts to foster a successful team that encourages the appreciation of diverse perspectives as well as cohesiveness 
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to recruit, select, and hire an appropriate team 

Requirements 

  • Education/Certifications 
  • Bachelor’s degree  
  • Experience 
  • 7 years of experience  

Skills 

  • Working knowledge of email automation workflows (or marketing automation) and CRM or customer database tools 
  • Fluency in Google Analytics, Google Adwords, Enhanced e-Commerce, Google Tag Manager, Funnels, and A/B testing 
  • Proficient understanding of Microsoft Office Suite or related software 
  • Proficient knowledge of compliance related laws and regulations 
  • Proficient understanding of project management fundamentals 
  • Advanced writing and documentation experience with demonstrated success in strategic messaging 
  • Advanced expertise in excel and analytical analysis and reporting 
  • Expert understanding of the financial and business acumen to drive profitability
