Campfield Campstore Manager

Purpose

The Campstore Manager is a brand leader and operational expert, responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Campstore and café. This role ensures seamless daily operations, sales, and guest experience while leading a team of Campstore Leads and Associates. The Campstore Manager focuses on team development, sales performance, food & beverage programming, and operational efficiency, managing costs and working within leadership-approved budgets.

Status: Full Time, Benefit-Eligible

Compensation Type: $31 - $35 Hourly

Reports To: General Manager

Schedule: Required availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays

 

Essential Duties

Manage Store & Café Operations

·       Oversee daily operations of the Campstore and café, ensuring efficiency, cleanliness, and compliance with company standards

·       Resolve escalated customer issues and support the team in delivering exceptional service

·       Manage inventory and forecasting, ensuring proper stock levels while controlling costs

·       Oversee food & beverage programming, ensuring product selection, quality, and compliance with health and safety regulations

·       Enforce health, safety, and security standards, ensuring all employees follow policies and guidelines

Sales & Guest Experience

·       Drive sales and revenue growth through effective merchandising, customer engagement, and upselling strategies

·       Train and coach staff on customer service, product knowledge, and food & beverage offerings

·       Maintain a visually compelling and organized store environment, executing seasonal promotions and brand initiatives in coordination with the Senior Retail Manager

Team Leadership & Development

·       Supervise and support the Campstore Lead and Associates

·       Collaborate with Human Resources to recruit, hire, and onboard effective teams

·       Support implementation of seasonal staffing strategies in collaboration with HR

·       Teach, model, and inspire Snow Peak values within teams

·       Communicate transparently and resolve conflicts to foster successful, cohesive teams where all people are valued for their skills, experience, and unique perspectives

·       Maintain working proficiency in all Campfield systems, tools, and technology platforms, and train employees on their use

·       Develop employees by coaching, mentoring, and providing effective performance feedback

·       Ensure employees meet performance expectations

·       Plan and manage staff scheduling proactively, ensuring proper coverage while balancing labor costs and operational needs

·       Monitor employee work schedules including assignments, training, paid time off, and overtime

Operational & Financial Oversight

·       Collaborate with the Senior Retail Manager on brand activations, merchandising, sales strategies, and inventory management; work closely with the General Manager on operational decisions and major purchases

·       Support purchase order processes and financial reconciliation, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance

·       Monitor business performance metrics, making operational adjustments to improve efficiency and profitability

·       Ensure compliance with food handling, alcohol service, and retail policies

Additional Responsibilities

·       Support community events and brand initiatives to enhance customer engagement

·       Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Requirements

Experience & Certifications

·       3+ years of experience in retail, hospitality, or food service, with 2+ years in a leadership role

·       Experience in food & beverage operations and understanding of health and safety compliance

·       Valid Food Worker Card and MAST Alcohol Serving Permit (or ability to obtain)

Skills & Abilities

·       Strong leadership and team development skills

·       Proficient understanding of food & beverage operations, including health and safety compliance

·       Experience with visual merchandising and brand presentation

·       Ability to analyze sales and operational data to drive business performance

·       Excellent customer service, conflict resolution, and problem-solving abilities

·       Proficiency in POS systems and cash handling, with the ability to troubleshoot routine system issues independently

·       Experience building and managing schedules using scheduling software, with attention to labor cost management

·       Comfortable navigating multiple computer systems including POS platforms, inventory software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite; able to learn new systems with minimal instruction

·       Highly organized with strong time management; able to independently prioritize competing tasks across store and café operations without losing track of deadlines or follow-through

·       Strong written and verbal communication skills

Physical Demands

·       Prolonged standing and movement throughout shifts

·       Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
