Network Design Specialist - Tier I

Socket is seeking a highly skilled Network Design Specialist – Tier I to design and develop maps and tailored Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications. This role will involve analyzing and interpreting maps, processing digital land data, and efficiently managing data within a GIS database to support a wide range of operational and strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will have some understanding of GIS technologies, data manipulation, and spatial analysis to drive effective decision-making and data management.


This is an in-office position.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on easements to assess potential locations for fiber installation by Socket
  • Design and develop maps using Socket's Geographic Information Systems (GIS) tools
  • Review and develop instructions to implement existing designs to our contractors
  • Review new sales quote requests to evaluate feasibility and ensure alignment with company capabilities
  • Regular reliable attendance

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail when maintaining and entering data into the GIS database
  • The ability to interpret technical reports and drawings, converting them into accurate map layers
  • Ability to adapt Socket’s products into a service that addresses the customer’s needs
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in presenting data in a clear and effective manner
  • Familiarity with GIS systems is preferred but not required
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and have good driving record
