Socket is a leader in business telecommunications providing business customers with a value-driven alternative to the incumbent service providers. With our corporate headquarters in Columbia, MO, and branch office in St. Peters, MO, we serve locations across Mid-Missouri.
Responsibilities:
- Developing new sales opportunities through various prospecting methods, including phone calls, email campaigns, canvasing, Chamber involvement, etc.
- Record sales activities, opportunities, and sales in provided CRM program (Salesforce.com)
- Determining customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions. Product focus will be on SMB solutions, including Internet (Fiber), Local Phone, Long Distance, Audio Conferencing, Fax to Email, and Cloud Based Phone Systems.
- Use provided tools to put together contracts, quotes, and sample invoices in a timely fashion.
- Participating in regularly scheduled sales calls, sales target meetings, and all sales training sessions.
- Serve as direct point of contact for the customers you sell to ensuring ongoing customer satisfaction.
- Regular follow-up with clients to update information and resolve any issues.
- Participating in customer facing events like Lunch & Learns, trade shows, and expo booths as required.
- Assist with on-boarding and mentoring new Sales Hires as required.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- At least 2 years of prior B2B sales experience
- Strong prospecting and communications skills are a must.
- Outgoing personality with expertise at developing relationships (i.e. a “people person")
- Must possess excellent sales skills, a positive and professional attitude, and a strong desire to succeed.
- Associate's Degree and/or equivalent work experience in the Telecommunications/Internet/Data field.
- Must have the ability to multi-task, be self-motivated and work in a sales team environment.
- Highly disciplined, independent, and organized
- Prior experience in telecom/data sales a plus
- This job will require the qualified candidate to consistently prospect potential B2B clients and close new business.
