About the role

We’re looking for a Creative Director, UX/UI to lead a talented group of designers in shaping the end-to-end digital experience across multiple owned brands with accountability across product, ecommerce and lead generation properties. This role owns the full UX/UI discipline from design system governance to conversion optimization and leads a team of designers organized across four specialized pods: Lead Gen, Ecommerce, Product Experience, and Design Systems. Working directly with product, marketing, and development agencies, this CD will translate business goals into intuitive, user-centered digital experiences that drive measurable performance outcomes.

What you'll do

  • Lead and manage a team of UX/UI designers across Lead Gen, Ecommerce, Product Experience, and Design Systems sub-teams designing intuitive, responsive interfaces for web and mobile across Brio, Closet World and Closet by Design’s ecommerce and lead generation funnels.
  • Own UX flows from discovery through delivery including wireframes, user journeys, low/high-fidelity prototypes, and final visual design assets.
  • Optimize existing pages and flows to improve conversion rates, lead capture, and overall customer engagement across Closet World and Closets by Design digital properties.
  • Collaborate with product managers, marketers, and developers to define requirements, validate hypotheses, and ship high-quality experiences at scale using design systems.
  • Use data & analytics, multi-variant testing, and user feedback to inform design decisions and continuously iterate on solutions across all digital pods.
  • Maintain and evolve shared design systems, ensuring consistency and speed across all digital touchpoints and brand properties.
  • Lead usability testing and user research efforts; synthesize findings into clear, actionable design recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Advocate for best-in-class UX practices and accessible, inclusive design across all digital properties including integration of AI toolsets and workflows.  

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in a design leadership role, preferably within ecommerce, DTC retail, or online consumer products.
  • Proven experience designing for high-traffic websites and mobile experiences with measurable performance outcomes ideally on platforms like Webflow, BigCommerce, Framer or Shopify.
  • Demonstrated success designing lead generation flows including forms, landing pages, and conversion-optimized experiences.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design processes from research and ideation through polished delivery for web and mobile.
  • Expertise in Figma and modern prototyping tools; solid understanding of UX best practices, responsive design, and front-end constraints.
  • Ability to balance business goals with user needs and communicate design decisions clearly to cross-functional stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Comfortable working onsite in a fast-paced, collaborative Agile environment in Glendale, CA.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in DTC retail, subscription, or CPG.
  • Experience delivering consumer software experiences. 
  • Deep knowledge of Webflow, Shopify & low-code web design platforms
  • Experience in A/B testing, CRO, or performance marketing environments where design decisions are validated against measurable outcomes.
  • Interest and passion for integrating AI-assisted toolsets into Figma and web tech workflows. 
  • Familiarity with analytics platforms such as Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or Hotjar.

The pay range for this role is:

150,000 - 215,000 USD per year (Softline HQ)
