Summary of Job (brief description)

The Medical Affairs Strategy Liaison is a hybrid role that will oversee Medical Affairs strategic activities with a focus on field medical needs for both internal company programs and external facing interactions. They will provide specialist medical & scientific strategic input into core medical affairs strategic and field medical activities. The Liaison will work cross-functionally with many different internal and external stakeholders to execute the plan of action for Medical Affairs. This role reports directly to the Head of Medical Affairs Strategy with close collaboration with the Sr Director of Medical Science Liaisons on field medical needs.


Responsibilities

  •  Ensures KOL gaps and opportunities are identified and strategic plans of action are taken to address educational and data generation needs, including investigator-initiated studies.
  • Gather and synthesize insights across the Medical Affairs organization, understanding internal and external drivers to inform company strategy, messaging and educational initiatives.
  • Partner with internal cross-functional teams, including Medical Affairs, Clinical Development and Commercial to align on strategy, ways of working and execution of initiatives.
  • Build and maintain Medical Affairs deliverables, including the scientific communication platform, FAQ documents, and MSL materials to ensure consistent messaging and seamless execution of deliverables across various work streams to address HCP educational needs and to ensure appropriate use of VYKAT XR.
  • Develop and execute engagement plans, ensuring consistent tactical execution and coordinating various engagement activities, such as speaker programs and advisory boards.
  • Lead and participate in advisory boards, symposia, and scientific conferences to gather insights, disseminate clinical data, and enhance awareness of PWS.
  • Support internal training and onboarding of new hires or cross-functional partners as needed
  • Provide therapeutic area expertise, medical support, and scientific insights to inform and align cross-functional strategic plans, as appropriate.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with important opinion leaders, medical societies, and other external partners to gather insights and inform medical strategies.
  • Stay up to date with scientific advancements, competitor activities, and industry trends to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Advanced medical/scientific degree (MD, PhD, Pharm D, NP/PA) with a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical or Biotech Industry within Medical Affairs, including field medical experience.
  • Strong background in Medical Affairs, operational excellence, and leadership, with the ability to drive innovative strategies and execute them with precision.
  • Prior launch experience, in orphan and/or specialty is a plus.
  • Ability to think strategically and translate that strategy into an actionable work plan.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of the regulatory environment and compliance requirements related to Medical Affairs.
  • Ability to work successfully in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Hybrid role will require travel to the home office and field-based engagements.


Salary Range: $230,000 - $260,000
