A Day in the Life:

  • Equipment Qualification Management
    • Execute end-to-end equipment qualification for data center infrastructure—review submittals, implement structured test protocols, evaluate prototypes, and coordinate stakeholder feedback to ensure compliance and quality.
    • Maintain systematic tracking of qualification metrics, ensuring data accuracy and timely status updates. Leverage technical expertise in electrical, mechanical, or high-voltage systems to assess equipment performance against mission-critical data center requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership
    • Coordinate among architectural, electrical, control, and mechanical disciplines—as well as equipment vendors, supply chain specialists, commissioning teams, and operations managers—to optimize qualification timelines and deliver scalable, high-quality solutions.
  • Documentation & Reporting
    • Develop and execute documentation strategies for equipment qualification, including vendor quality audits, test reports, submittal reviews, and detailed status reporting.
    • Collaborate with analytics teams to build and maintain dashboards, metrics-tracking systems, and predictive models that inform decision-making.
  • Project Delivery & Continuous Improvement
    • Oversee project plans—managing scope, schedule, budget, and risks—across multiple concurrent initiatives; drive adherence to project management disciplines and critical-path management.
    • Identify operational efficiencies and lead continuous-improvement initiatives, implementing scalable solutions to enhance team performance and delivery.
    • Apply program management expertise to integrate data center equipment into large-scale deployments, identifying gaps in process or performance across infrastructure components.
  • Stakeholder Communication & Escalation
    • Serve as primary liaison with engagement management teams and executive stakeholders—communicating project needs, risks, and updates with sound judgment.
    • Act as an escalation point for project and team issues, ensuring timely resolution and resource allocation.
    • Facilitate communication across engineering and operations functions, bridging technical and business priorities to accelerate equipment deployment and resolution of field issues.
  • Financial & People Management
    • Administer project financials, including invoice management and project control documentation.
    • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and professional development guidance to direct reports; participate in recruiting and interviewing project team members.

What it takes:

  • Background in electrical, high-voltage (HV) electrical, or mechanical systems, particularly within mission-critical or industrial infrastructure environments
  • Experience with data center design, construction, or operations, including familiarity with data center-grade equipment
  • Proven ability to manage equipment lifecycle programs involving qualification, installation, and integration within large-scale technical infrastructure
  • Exposure to equipment vendor coordination, field testing, and post-deployment issue resolution in infrastructure-heavy environments
  • 5+ years of design experience in commercial, industrial, or other complex technical projects
  • 2+ years of mission-critical facility design or technical program management experience
  • 2+ years of project management experience—including scope, schedule, budget, and risk management
  • 2+ years of data center design, construction, or operations experience is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements (e.g., IBC, NFPA, NEC, OSHA)
  • Ability to communicate technical subjects to both engineers and non-engineers, develop basic business cases, derive justification, and create performance metrics
  • Hands-on proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Project, SharePoint) and familiarity with Tableau, Kanban boards, SQL, or systems-integration tools
  • Exceptional ability to read and interpret technical documents and equipment specifications
  • Proven track record of leading, mentoring, and motivating cross-functional teams
  • Analytical and quantitative aptitude, with experience presenting complex data to varied stakeholders
  • Consultative, client-facing mindset with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility to thrive in a high-growth environment and intellectual curiosity to drive continuous learning and improvement

  • The beginning salary range for this role is $70 -$90 per hour
