A Day in the Life:

  • Lead the Sparq QA Automation team for the project, collaborating closely with client QA and engineering teams to establish Cypress-based testing strategies and ensure consistent automation practices across environments.
  • Review requirements and participate in architecture, design, and code reviews with a focus on scalable Cypress automation frameworks, code quality, and adherence to best practices.
  • Evaluate and recommend solutions and supporting tools that best meet client and project needs, presenting optimal options for cross-browser and end-to-end test coverage.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites primarily using Cypress, while integrating with complementary tools such as Postman, JMeter, and BrowserStack.
  • Implement robust Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines integrating Cypress tests within cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and containerized frameworks (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Build and evolve reusable Cypress frameworks and supporting libraries to ensure scalability, maintainability, and reusability across multiple applications—including both web and mobile testing where applicable.
  • Monitor, triage, and maintain automated test results—identifying true defects versus test instability—and continuously improving test reliability and execution performance.
  • Partner with developers to debug issues uncovered during Cypress test runs, providing detailed root-cause analysis and supporting faster resolution cycles.
  • Document and manage test cases within a test management system, ensuring clear traceability between Cypress test scripts, requirements, and defect tracking.
