About the Role:

As the Director of AI Enablement, you will be the primary driver for Sparq’s adoption and use of AI technologies in our client engagements. Your main objective is to accelerate the adoption and effective use of AI across our delivery teams to enhance efficiency, quality, and profitability. You will serve primarily as an internal consultant, coach, and strategist, partnering with project teams to integrate AI into their daily workflows and, on occasion, supporting pre-sales conversations related to client AI enablement programs.

This role requires a leader who is hands-on as a credible, forward-thinking technologist who is able to see past the hype while also being an exceptional communicator and advocate. You will be responsible for maturing our internal AI practices and standards, refining our AI governance program, and developing the metrics to prove the value of our AI investments.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Internal Enablement & Adoption

Function as a hands-on advisor for our delivery teams, cycling through projects to provide ad-hoc consulting, run workshops, and host office hours on AI best practices.

Develop and execute strategies to increase internal AI acceptance and proficiency, as measured by colleague surveys and adoption metrics.

Partner with delivery leadership to identify and overcome challenges to AI adoption, evangelizing the benefits for our teams and clients.

Develop the metrics and measures required to quantify the benefits of AI in client engagements, comparing AI-assisted projects to traditional ones.

2. AI Tool & Platform Management

Own the function for trialing, piloting, and testing new AI solutions to ensure Sparq remains at the leading edge of technology.

Manage Sparq's enterprise AI platform program, driving its evolution and utilization across the company.

Understand and catalog the current use of AI tools across the organization to build and maintain the official list of approved AI tools.

3. Strategy, Governance & Offering Development

Act as a key stakeholder in refining and evolving Sparq's AI Use Policy as the technology and our business needs change.

Drive the long-term goal of packaging our expertise into a formal AI Enablement service offering for clients.

Partner with the CTO to define and track KPIs for the AI-First initiative.

4. Client & Sales Partnership

As a secondary function, provide subject matter expertise during the pre-sales process for opportunities with significant AI enablement needs.

Build trusted relationships with key client stakeholders, guiding them on their AI journey and demonstrating Sparq's advanced capabilities.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

Key Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

The ideal candidate will have at least 10+ years of experience in technology leadership, with a significant portion dedicated to technology strategy, internal evangelism, and/or implementing emerging technologies at scale.

Proven experience working with AI/ML solutions and a deep understanding of their practical application within the software development lifecycle.

A demonstrated ability to be a credible, hands-on technologist who can also function as a strategic thinker and influential communicator.

Experience in a professional services or consulting environment, with an understanding of how to drive change across multiple project teams and client contexts.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex AI concepts and their business value to diverse audiences, from engineers to executives.

Proficient in English, with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Willingness to travel up to 20% for client and prospective client engagements.

Nice-to-Have:

Experience with AI governance, including the development or refinement of corporate policies for AI use.

Direct experience managing or contributing to a technology-focused Center of Excellence (CoE).

Certifications in cloud AI/ML platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Machine Learning - Specialty, Azure AI Engineer Associate, Google Professional Machine Learning Engineer).

Experience developing and refining client offerings in a consulting or IT services environment.
