Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Grant & RFP Specialist to support our team on a contract, part-time, and/or consulting basis. This role is ideal for someone with proven success in grant applications and RFP submissions who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. You will play a critical role in identifying funding opportunities, leading proposal development, and writing compelling submissions that showcase Speer's innovation and capabilities.


Responsibilities

  • Research and identify grant, RFP, and funding opportunities aligned with Speer's focus areas.
  • Lead the end-to-end RFP response process, including coordinating timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder input.
  • Write, edit, and format compelling proposals, applications, and supporting documents.
  • Ensure submissions meet all technical, content, and formatting requirements.
  • Manage multiple concurrent submissions while maintaining a high standard of quality.
  • Consulting and advising the executive team on strategic approach to submit and win RFPs, as well as training other team members on the proposal process.
  • Work closely with leadership, sales, and marketing teams to develop strategies for RFP and grant success.
  • Tailor each submission to highlight Speer’s strengths, differentiators, and unique capabilities.
  • Maintain a repository of commonly used documents, templates, and case studies for reuse across proposals.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, funding programs, and best practices in grant writing and procurement processes.
  • Create internal timelines and checklists to meet critical deadlines.
  • Organize meetings, gather required information, and ensure clarity on submission requirements.
  • Track and report on the status of submissions and outcomes.

Requirements

  • Experienced: You have a track record of writing winning grants, RFPs, or other funding proposals.
  • Organized and Detail-Oriented: You can juggle multiple deadlines and requirements without missing a beat.
  • Proactive: You take ownership of your work and anticipate needs before they arise.
  • Strategic Thinker: You can quickly grasp new concepts and tailor your writing to different audiences and opportunities.
  • Effective Communicator: You excel at crafting clear, persuasive, and professional written content.
  • Collaborative Partner: You work well with internal teams and external partners to gather insights and strengthen proposals.
  • Adaptable: You're comfortable working in a startup environment, where priorities shift quickly and innovation is constant.

Job Details

  • Job Type: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
  • Pay: $55,000–$80,000 a year
  • Flexible language requirement: French not required
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
