About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Google Ads Specialist to lead, manage, and optimise paid advertising campaigns across Google Search, Display, YouTube, and Shopping. This role requires a proven track record in strategy, execution, and advanced optimisation to drive measurable results, particularly for gyms, fitness studios, and membership-based businesses.
The successful candidate will focus on scaling campaigns, reducing CPL, improving conversion rates, and maximising ROI. They should be highly analytical, conversion-focused, and able to demonstrate experience in local service-based businesses, ideally within Australia or comparable markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, create, and manage advanced Google Ads campaigns (Search, Display, Video, Shopping, Performance Max).
- Conduct in-depth keyword research, competitor benchmarking, and audience targeting.
- Optimise bids, budgets, ad groups, and campaigns to maximise ROI and reduce CAC.
- Write and test compelling ad copy (headlines, descriptions, CTAs) using A/B testing.
- Monitor and optimise Quality Scores, CPC, CTR, conversion rates, and other key KPIs.
- Implement and manage remarketing and retargeting strategies across multiple platforms.
- Leverage advanced features such as ad extensions, scripts, rules, automated bidding, and audience segmentation.
- Prepare and present detailed performance reports with insights and actionable recommendations.
- Stay updated on Google Ads trends, features, and best practices.
- If possible, support landing page optimisation to ensure end-to-end conversion improvements.
Qualifications & Skills
- 4–6+ years of proven Google Ads management experience (agency or in-house).
- Advanced knowledge of campaign structures, bidding strategies, and optimisation techniques.
- Strong proficiency in Google Ads, GA4, and Google Tag Manager.
- Hands-on experience with conversion tracking, event setup, and attribution models.
- Google Ads Certifications (Search, Display, Video, Shopping) highly regarded.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills — with the ability to translate data into insights.
- Experience managing large ad budgets with a clear track record of driving ROI.
- Excellent communication and client-facing presentation skills.
- Previous experience with fitness industry clients (gyms, studios, membership businesses) is a strong advantage.
- Experience with local service businesses in Australia or similar markets preferred.
