About Sprout Therapy PDX: Sprout Therapy PDX is an outpatient mental health practice serving Oregonians across two Portland locations—St. Johns and North Tabor—and statewide via telehealth. We were founded on the belief that high-quality mental health care should be accessible, and we center that commitment in everything we do: our payer mix is predominantly Medicaid/OHP, our team reflects the communities we serve, and our brand is built on authenticity rather than polish.


We are a growing practice with a strong clinical reputation, a defined brand voice, and an SEO and content strategy already in development. This role is the first dedicated marketing hire at Sprout, and the person who fills it will have real ownership, a real budget, and direct access to leadership.


Position Overview: The Marketing Manager will own and drive Sprout’s marketing function - executing strategy, building community presence, and directly contributing to new client volume. This is an individual contributor role with meaningful autonomy. You will not manage a team, but you will own outcomes.

This role is best suited for someone with 4+ years of marketing experience who has independently managed channels and can move from strategy to execution without significant oversight. Healthcare or wellness experience is preferred but not required; comfort with learning HIPAA-compliant marketing practices is essential.

Our marketing infrastructure is in active development-we have a blog content strategy, keyword targets, and a clear brand voice. You’ll be building on a foundation, not starting from scratch.


This is a full-time, salaried position based in the Portland, OR area. The role is primarily remote, with approximately 20% in-person attendance required for events and community engagement. Compensation ranges from $80,000 - $90,000, depending on experience.


What Success Looks Like:

In the first 90 days:

  • You have a clear picture of our current web performance, social presence, and referral landscape
  • You’ve identified the highest-leverage opportunities and have a 6-month action plan
  • You’ve published at least two SEO-aligned blog posts and established a consistent social cadence

 

At 6 months:

  • Inbound inquiry volume has increased measurably from baseline
  • Plan and strategy in place to improve ratio of Medicaid to out of pocket and commercial insurance
  • Screening-to-intake conversion rate is being tracked and is stable or improving (in collaboration with clinical operations staff)
  • Brand presence is consistent across web, social, and community channels
  • A referral network of community partners is active and growing
  • Marketing budget is allocated with data to support decisions

Responsibilities


Client Acquisition & Growth

  • Own and drive marketing efforts with a primary focus on increasing new client volume
  • Monitor inbound inquiry trends and screening-to-intake conversion rates in collaboration with our Intake Coordinator
  • Identify and implement opportunities to increase visibility and inbound demand
  • Seek sponsorship and business development opportunities with aligned local businesses and organizations

 

Digital Presence

  • Maintain and update the company website (Squarespace)
  • Execute SEO strategy to improve search rankings and organic traffic, using tools including Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and an SEO platform (Semrush or equivalent)
  • Monitor website performance metrics and translate data into actionable improvements
  • Write, edit, and publish blog and social media content aligned with SEO, brand, and client acquisition goals
  • Maintain consistent brand voice and messaging across all digital platforms
  • Manage and grow social media channels (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok)

 

Community & Referral Development

  • Build and maintain external referral relationships with community partners, listservs, and professional networks
  • Support and coordinate networking events and community outreach opportunities
  • Identify and execute opportunities to strengthen local brand presence in the Portland metro area

 

Operations & Budget

  • Manage the annual marketing budget (~$12,000-20,000), allocating across tools, content, events, and paid digital
  • Execute marketing initiatives independently from planning through completion
  • Stay organized across multiple projects with clear timelines and minimal oversight
  • Track, report, and optimize based on performance data

Qualifications and Skills


Required

  • Alignment with Sprout Therapy PDX’s culture, mission, and values
  • 4+ years of marketing experience, with demonstrated ownership of channels (not just support)
  • Proven track record of using marketing to drive measurable business outcomes
  • Strong experience with website management (Squarespace preferred), social media, and using AI tools
  • Working knowledge of SEO strategy, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console
  • Excellent written communication skills; able to write, edit, and publish content independently
  • Self-directed and organized; comfortable executing without daily oversight

 

Preferred

  • Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, wellness, or nonprofit environments
  • Experience with an SEO platform (Semrush, Ahrefs, or equivalent)
  • Experience building referral networks or community-based marketing programs
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms (Mailchimp or equivalent)
  • Familiarity with HIPAA-compliant marketing practices and healthcare advertising constraints
  • Experience managing a marketing budget
