Clinical Supervisor Job Description


Position Overview: Sprout Therapy PDX is seeking a Clinical Supervisor. The Clinical Supervisor is a nuanced role, encompassing clinical supervision, client care, and some administrative duties. This role reports to the Clinical Operations Team in overseeing clinical work, supporting staff to follow appropriate policies and procedures, and in ensuring company culture and client experience is aligned with Sprout Therapy PDX mission and values. Flexibility, creativity, and dedication is a must in this role.


This is a full-time position salaried at a rate of $47.25, totaling a combined hourly commitment of 32-40 hours per week. The annual salary is $98,280. This position offers flexible scheduling.

Reports to: Shannon MacMinn, LMFT, Clinical Operations Director


Duties/Responsibilities:


Clinical Supervision:

  • Consult with the Clinical Operations Team to evaluate clinician success as well as any clinical issues or successes.
  • Provide group and individual supervision to both licensed and unlicensed associate clinicians on staff. 
  • Understand the roles and tasks for all administrative and clinical positions and provide support to the entire team as needed.
  • General support for supervisees in auditing their own charts to ensure clinical work is sound and documented appropriately as to Sprout Therapy PDX standards.
  • Ability to identify areas where supervisees need improvement clinically or administratively, and share with Clinical Operations Team.
  • Growth driven mindset towards development of Sprout Therapy PDX as a community of care and a leader in anti-capitalist healthcare and mutual aid. 


Clinician: 

  • Perform on-site and/or virtual clinical counseling services to patients of Sprout Therapy PDX as scheduled, and in accordance with company policies.  
  • Regular and reliable attendance and timely arrival to work is required.
  • Be properly licensed and abide by all laws, rules, regulations, and codes of ethics that are binding upon or applicable to the services performed for Sprout Therapy PDX.
  • Respond to patients’ requests for service or calls within 24 hours whether such requests are made in person, by phone, voicemail, etc. or through the Sprout Therapy PDX website.  Respond to such requests by meeting, evaluating, and providing services to such patients.  
  • Communicate with a patient’s treatment team (i.e., PCP, psychiatrist, school, etc.) as necessary.
  • Timely complete written records for each patient including, but not limited to: intake notes, progress notes, treatment plans, termination notes, contract notes, and other forms or documents which may be needed or required from time-to-time by Sprout Therapy PDX or third parties in conjunction with the treatment of the patient within a timely fashion. Keep patient files accurate and up to date.
  • Charge and collect payments from patients for services provided consistent with the policy and rate for such services as established by Sprout Therapy PDX.
  • Attend mandatory staff meetings and training as directed by Sprout Therapy PDX.
  • Conduct and regulate counseling services in a professional manner so as to maintain and increase the good will and reputation of Sprout Therapy PDX. Be respectful of and cooperative and collaborative with co-workers.
  • Passion for working with others (being collaborative) and helping our team members grow and learn.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:


  • Alignment with our company’s culture, mission, and values
  • Master’s Degree or Doctoral Degree in counseling or social work
  • Active and unrestricted license to practice in the state of Oregon (PsyD, LCSW, LPC, or LMFT) or the ability to achieve licensure and current active registration as an intern (CSWA, LPC Intern, or LMFT Intern) in the state of Oregon - applicants with licensing in another state must be in the process of obtaining an Oregon license
  • Available to hold at least 12 client sessions per week, in addition. To other duties, provided such sessions are available and referred/scheduled by Sprout Therapy PDX.
  • Be organized and detail oriented, punctual, and professional
  • Self-directed, responsible, confident, and clinically savvy
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • At least 2+ years of experience post-Master’s preferred in multiple settings 
  • Have at least one niche market for counseling services (i.e., LGBTQIA+, bilingual, children, teens, EMDR, etc)
