Business Development Representative (BDR)

Succession Resource Group is a boutique succession planning consulting firm dedicated to helping financial advisors and other small business owners value, grow, protect, and plan for the transition of their business. Description

The Business Development Representative (BDR) will assist the team in all sales-related functions focused on lead generation, lead nurturing, and lead qualification. The BDR will need to have a strong understanding of SRG, SRG's value proposition, its competitors, and its services. The BDR will work with the sales and marketing teams to achieve targets and support various initiatives. This role requires a high level of independent work, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask effectively.

Responsibilities

1. Lead Generation: 
  • Call, email, and connect with past leads in Salesforce

  • Contact all attendees and registrants of events (e.g. conferences, webinars, etc.)

  • Call, email, send LinkedIn connection requests, and other outreach methods to initiate contact with potential leads

  • Qualify leads based on established criteria and gather essential information to understand their needs and pain points

  • Support lead generation efforts through data entry, list management, and campaign tracking in Salesforce
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records of all lead contact information, lead interactions, and communications in Salesforce

  • Research and identify potential clients through various sources, including online research, social media, industry events, and networking

  • Integrate events into broader sales campaigns and initiatives

  • Communicate services to clients by maintaining and improving sales pitch decks


2. Relationship Building: 
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and execution of sales initiatives
  • Build and maintain relationships with prospective clients, understanding their challenges and effectively communicating the value proposition of SRG's services

  • Build and maintain relationships with strategic partners and partner firms for additional lead opportunities by communicating the value proposition of SRG's services

  • Nurture leads through regular follow-ups, providing relevant information and resources to keep them engaged in the sales funnel

     
3. Collaboration: 
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing team to align messaging and strategies, ensuring consistency in brand communication and lead nurturing efforts

  • Work closely with the sales team to transfer qualified leads and provide necessary background information to facilitate smooth handoffs to the project team

     
4. Communication and Reporting: 
  • Monitor and analyze content performance metrics 
  • Provide regular reports and updates on lead generation activities, conversion rates, and pipeline progression

  • Highlight key metrics, achievements, and challenges
  • Provides clear updates and action items to team

5. Documentation and Records: 
  • Create, monitor, and complete tasks
  • Maintain lead/contact integrity in Salesforce

6. Continuous Learning:
  • Stay informed of recent industry updates
  • Stay informed of sales trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in sales and apply them to improve close rate
  • Continuously enhance understanding of SRG's services and value proposition
  • Other research-related tasks, as needed

7. Goal Achievement:
  • Meet or exceed weekly, monthly, and quarterly lead generation and qualification targets set by the management
  • Contribute to achieving overall company revenue and growth goals

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, or a related field (preferred, but not mandatory)
  • Previous experience in sales, business development, or lead generation is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to understand hard concepts and pair them down into easy-to-understand concepts
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with diverse individuals
  • Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment remotely
  • Familiarity with CRM software and lead management tools - specifically Salesforce
  • Results-oriented mindset with the ability to thrive in a target-driven environment
  • Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, adaptability and willingness to take on new challenges
  • Self-motivated and proactive approach to lead generation and relationship-building
  • Proven experience in event planning and coordination and/or content creation and management, preferably in a B2B, technology-focused environment, marketing or educational setting
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Travel will be required as part of this role. 
Compensation will be base salary + commission DOE
BDRs should anticipate receiving an annual compensation package of no less than $90,000 per year based successful completion of on-target earnings goals. 

The pay range for this role is:

50,000 - 100,000 USD per year (Remote - United States)
