About the role
Are you passionate about technology with a love for all things animated? Steamroller Mauritius is looking for a Senior IT Technician to keep our digital dreams running smoothly. *** This is a full-time, on-site position at our Mauritius studio ***
Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site support to end users for hardware (workstations and printers) and standard software (Windows OS, Office Suite).
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
- Manage local infrastructure, including servers and networks, as needed.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards.
- Repair or replace damaged hardware.
- Upgrade systems to maintain compatibility with current software.
- Install and update antivirus software to ensure user-level security.
- Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex PC issues for end users, and recommend or implement corrective hardware solutions, including off-site repair when necessary.
- Serve as the first point of contact for user error reporting and general IT support.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with all departments and colleagues.
- Conduct daily backup operations.
- Maintain and manage technical documentation.
- Provide training and support to end users and staff on computer operations and related issues.
- Offer guidance to junior team members when required.
- Respond promptly to security or usability concerns.
- Assist other support areas to ensure service levels meet business requirements.
- Construct, install, and test customized configurations across various platforms and operating systems.
- Contribute to team initiatives and perform additional tasks to support departmental goals as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is a plus.
- 2+ years of experience in computer networks and system maintenance.
- A+, Linux, or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in database programming and software installation.
- In-depth knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol suite, security architecture, and methods for securing and hardening operating systems, networks, databases, and applications.
- Knowledge of the incident response life cycle.
- Solid understanding of threat and attack landscapes, attack vectors, vulnerabilities, and how they are exploited by malicious actors.
- Strong understanding of computer, network, and security systems.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
