About the role


As a Lead Pipeline TD at Steamroller, you'll be at the forefront of enhancing and integrating cutting-edge tools that empower our creative teams to do their best work. Your role is all about innovation—whether it's refining our existing systems or introducing new, game-changing solutions. You'll lead a talented team, troubleshoot complex issues, and collaborate with the CG Supervisor to bring visions to life. This is a full-time position that is open to on-site (in Mount Dora, Florida), hybrid, or remote applicants. 

Responsibilities

  • Participate in improving the performance/quality of tools.

  • Integrate new tools and systems into the production chain, or upgrade existing ones.

  • Meet the needs of each business team in terms of production tools, to facilitate their daily work.

  • Maintain and upgrade version release and mastering systems.

  • Implement and maintain multiplatform feature modules/libraries.

  • Work in an agile development team, and take responsibility for organizing and planning your own work.

  • Identify and solve potential code problems.

  • Write pipeline tools and further develop the pipeline for use across Company projects.

  • Lead team of Pipeline TD’s, providing guidance and oversight with the development of their tools.

  • First troubleshooting reponder and resolver when high-level issues arise within the pipeline on projects.

  • Collaborate with the CG Supervisor and end users to determine the best solutions. Once a solution has been agreed then ensure that it addresses end user and shows requirements as briefed.

  • Thorough documentation of all development and updating as necessary.

  • Ongoing research to recommend improvements to workflows in order to improve productivity or communication.

  • Contribute to team efforts and perform additional tasks to support department goals as needed.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in tools and programming.

  • Excellent command of Python, Mel, C ++, and C #.

  • Versatile, autonomous, and curious.

  • Good analytical ability.

  • Debugging and optimization skills.

  • Good written and oral communication in English.

  • Willingness to always improve the product.

  • Experience developing for a 3D application such as Maya or Houdini.

  • Leadership and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

  • The ability to prioritize production needs and tasks.

  • Detail-oriented with a strong ability to multitask.

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English.
