Service Manager
We're not just filling a position—we're launching an internal startup right here in Texas. If you're an entrepreneurial leader who thrives on autonomy, loves turning vision into reality, and gets excited about building high-performing teams from the ground up, this is your chance to make a real impact. You'll be collaborating with management to design processes, hire your core team, and help shape the long-term vision of our growing operation—with full support from our Helena, MT headquarters.
As a Service Manager at Power Drive Supply, you will serve as the on-site leader with full authority over yard/shop operations to ensure smooth, efficient, safe, and profitable daily activities — from incoming purchases to repairs, inventory management, sales support, and customer interactions — so the site runs like a well-oiled machine that maximizes inventory turns, margins, and customer satisfaction.
- Treat this Texas location like your own internal startup: full ownership to build efficient systems, workflows, and culture exactly how you envision them.
- Hand-pick and lead your team from scratch—hire, onboard, and develop your mechanic, yard staff, and future hires to create a tight-knit, high-output crew.
- Entrepreneurial mindset required: We're seeking a self-starter who sees unfinished processes as blank canvases for innovation, not roadblocks.
- Contribute directly to our company vision—your ideas on operations, safety, efficiency, and growth will help define how we scale across Texas and beyond.
- High autonomy with smart support: Operate independently day-to-day while tapping into HQ resources, guidance, and backing—no micromanagement, just real partnership.
- Ideal for someone who loves the startup hustle: Embrace the challenge of creating structure where none exists yet, turning potential into performance, and seeing your direct contributions fuel company growth
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Oversee and direct all on-site team members (Inventory Specialist, Mechanics, etc.); assign priorities, monitor performance, resolve conflicts, and ensure alignment with company goals.
- Yard/Shop Operations: Manage daily yard/shop workflow, coordinate incoming equipment intake, repairs/refurbishment scheduling, inventory organization, loading/unloading, and delivery prep.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety protocols, site cleanliness, organization, and regulatory compliance (e.g., environmental, OSHA-equivalent standards for equipment handling/storage).
- Customer & Sales Support: Handle on-site customer interactions when needed (e.g., walk-arounds, basic inquiries, issue resolution) and support the Salesman in closing deals.
- Performance Reporting: Monitor key site metrics (inventory status, repair progress, parts usage) and report weekly to upper leadership.
- Operational Coordination: Collaborate with Purchaser on buy decisions/estimates, flag operational issues (e.g., storage limits, repair bottlenecks), and ensure site capacity matches purchasing/sales plans.
- Team Development: Coach and develop team members; recommend hiring, discipline, or changes to ensure the right people are in the right seats at the site level.
