Overview
Stellar Virtual is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Assessment Coordinator to lead and manage state and local testing operations for our Missouri-based virtual academic programs. This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring that all mandated assessments are administered accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) requirements. The Assessment Coordinator serves as the primary liaison between school leadership, testing vendors, site proctors, and families.

Essential Duties

  • Develop, maintain, and implement the state and district required assessments.
  • Coordinate logistics for both in-person and online test administrations, including securing sites, equipment, and proctoring resources.
  • Manage communication and scheduling with families and students regarding testing locations, dates, and expectations.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure student rosters, accommodations, and testing windows are accurately established and maintained.
  • Ensure full compliance with DESE regulations for test security, administration protocols, and student participation.
  • Train test administrators and proctors on ethical test practices and procedural integrity.
  • Monitor test sessions remotely or in person to support integrity and troubleshoot issues.
  • Submit accurate and timely reporting for accountability, student participation, irregularities, and post-testing processes.
  • Utilize assessment platforms (e.g., DRC INSIGHT, WIDA AMS, DESE MOSIS) to register students, track progress, and verify completion.
  • Collaborate with the data team to support clean and timely submission of assessment data.
  • Analyze assessment participation trends and provide insights to leadership on areas of improvement.
  • Work closely with instructional teams, student support services, and school operations to ensure all students, including those with IEPs or 504 plans, receive the appropriate accommodations.
  • Act as the go-to contact for all assessment-related inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.


Knowledge, Skills & Attributes 

  • At least 3 years of experience in K–12 education, preferably with direct experience coordinating standardized testing or assessment logistics
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Missouri state testing requirements and protocols.
  • Exceptional project management, organizational, and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and assessment data systems.
  • Ability to travel in-state as needed for in-person test administration and oversight


Education & Certification Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (preferred but not required).
