Overview
Stellar Virtual seeks a passionate and certified Spanish Teacher to join our team. This remote position will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective instruction in Spanish to students in grades 6-12 through our virtual learning platform. The ideal candidate will possess strong language proficiency, excellent communication and technology skills, and a passion for fostering a positive and supportive online learning environment that promotes cultural understanding and communicative competence. Responsibilities include curriculum implementation, assessment, individualized support, and collaboration to ensure student success.
Essential Duties
- Develop and deliver comprehensive, dynamic, and student-centered Spanish elective courses for secondary students in alignment with state and national standards.
- Utilize a variety of online teaching methodologies, resources, and technologies to cater to diverse learning styles and needs.
- Develop and deliver asynchronous learning activities, including interactive assignments, projects, cultural explorations, and discussions.
- Provide clear and timely feedback on student work to promote language acquisition and cultural understanding.
- Facilitate virtual language practice activities, including speaking sessions, role-playing, and collaborative projects.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, grades, and progress.
- Implement the Stellar Virtual world languages curriculum effectively and adapt instruction to meet individual student needs and proficiency levels.
- Develop and administer formative and summative assessments to monitor student language acquisition and cultural understanding.
- Analyze student data to identify learning gaps and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with curriculum specialists and other teachers to enhance the world languages curriculum.
- Support on-site testing events periodically throughout the year (required).
- Participate in virtual professional development and collaborate with colleagues on online teaching best practices.
- Work collaboratively with student support services (e.g., counselors, special education) to address student needs.
- Attend virtual staff meetings and contribute to the overall success of Stellar Virtual.
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes
- Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish.
- Minimum of two (2) years of successful Spanish teaching experience, preferably in a secondary setting.
- Strong understanding of language acquisition theory, curriculum development, and assessment strategies.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in using technology tools, virtual classrooms, and learning management systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
- Dedication to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Residency in the state of Arizona is required.
Education & Certification Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Education, Spanish, World Language Education, or a related field.
- A valid Arizona teaching license with an endorsement in Spanish (grades 6-12) or equivalent.

For W-2 employment, Stellar Virtual is an at-will employer. This means the employee and Stellar Virtual can terminate the employment at any time, with or without cause or notice, as legally permitted. 48,500 - 55,000 USD per year (Remote)
