Today, Stellar Virtual spans across three states, Arizona, Indiana, and Texas, with new states introduced each year.

Overview
The Gifted & Talented Teacher with Stellar Virtual’s Texas programs will provide services to students who have been identified as Gifted/Talented using district established criteria. This role is dedicated to delivering exceptional educational services to students identified as gifted and talented based on district-established criteria. As a Virtual Gifted and Talented Teacher, you will facilitate and guide students through engaging and challenging learning activities designed to help them reach their full intellectual, emotional, and social potential.

Essential Duties

  • Provide specialized and differentiated services for students identified as gifted and talented, utilizing innovative virtual teaching methods to enhance their learning experiences.
  • Continuously assess and track the academic and personal growth of students in the Gifted/Talented Program, using data-driven approaches to evaluate progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
  • Actively participate as a key member of the Campus Selection Committee to review and make informed decisions regarding student placement in the Gifted/Talented Program, ensuring a thorough and equitable screening process.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine a rigorous, challenging, and engaging curriculum specifically designed for gifted and talented students, integrating advanced content and critical thinking opportunities.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development tailored to gifted education and virtual teaching methodologies, staying current with the latest research and best practices to enhance instructional effectiveness.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of school-wide enrichment activities and programs, fostering a culture of intellectual curiosity and excellence across the virtual school community.
  • Work closely with parents, guardians, and campus staff to support student success, providing regular updates on student progress and collaborating on strategies to address individual needs.
  • Lead professional development sessions for teachers, sharing best practices and strategies for identifying and nurturing gifted and talented students in a virtual learning environment.
  • Collaborate with the Gifted/Talented Program supervisor to implement ongoing screening processes, ensuring the timely and accurate identification of students who may benefit from participation in the program.
  • Plan and facilitate virtual showcases throughout the year, providing students with opportunities to present and celebrate their projects, demonstrating their learning and achievements to the school community.
  • Assist with the organization and administration of testing for the Gifted/Talented Program, ensuring all materials are ordered, prepared, and distributed efficiently to support the identification and assessment process.


Knowledge, Skills & Attributes 

  • Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, with at least 2 years of experience working with gifted and talented students.
  • Minimum of 30 hours in previous Professional Development in Gifted/Talented Education.
  • Experience teaching in a virtual or hybrid learning environment is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of gifted education principles and best practices.
  • Proficient in using virtual learning platforms and educational technologies.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues in a virtual setting.


Education & Certification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Valid Texas teaching certification in Gifted and Talented Education strongly preferred.

50,000 - 55,000 USD per year (Remote (Texas, US))
