Position Overview:

We are seeking an innovative and passionate Secondary Engineering Teacher to join our team for the 2026 - 2027 school year. This role involves planning, organizing, and implementing a dynamic engineering curriculum that emphasizes critical thinking, problem-solving, and hands-on learning. You will inspire students to explore engineering concepts, applications, and career paths, equipping them with the skills needed for academic and professional success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan & Implement Lessons: Develop and deliver standards-aligned, problem-based lessons that engage students in foundational engineering concepts and applications.
  • Create Interactive Learning Experiences: Design lessons that incorporate real-world engineering challenges to foster creativity, analytical thinking, and practical application of engineering principles.
  • Monitor & Assess Progress: Track student growth toward mastery of engineering standards and provide regular feedback to students and parents.
  • Provide Supportive Accommodations: Adapt lessons and provide modifications to support the growth and success of all students, including those with diverse learning needs.
  • Collaborate with Colleagues: Work with teachers and staff to deepen content knowledge, enhance teaching practices, and create interdisciplinary learning opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Required:
    • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
    • Valid state teaching license with content knowledge in technology, engineering, or a related field.
    • Industry-Level Experience: Significant hands-on experience in engineering or related fields may substitute for CTE certification in Engineering.
  • Preferred:
    • Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience.
    • Master’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience).
    • Endorsements in CTE areas such as Engineering Technology, Exploring Technology, or Robotics Technology.
    • Certifications from relevant regulatory bodies, such as:
      • FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI).
      • FAA Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic (A&P) license.

Additional Skills and Experience:

  • Space Operations: A background in space operations is highly valued, including familiarity with systems and practices related to aerospace missions and technologies.
  • Aerospace Industry Expertise: Practical experience in areas such as flight operations, aircraft maintenance, aerospace design, or similar fields.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with Learning Management Systems, Google Workspace, and engineering software/tools.

Essential Physical Requirements

  • Occasional lifting of 5 to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to move quickly throughout the building and campus.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, walking, standing, kneeling, reaching, and sitting.

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • School Year: 2026–2027
  • Part time - 0.5 FTE

This position will remain open until filled, but will not be open past: May 31, 2026.

40,000 - 50,000 USD per year (Main)
