What we do:

The mission of Inner Spark Learning Lab (fka STEM to the Future) is to support elementary and middle school aged Black and brown youth in realizing their inherent freedom and potential, guiding them towards self-actualization and personal revolution. We foster environments where youth can explore their identities, align with their purpose, and develop the confidence and skills to create their desired realities for themselves and their communities.


Our social justice and STEAM-based learning experiences equip Black and brown elementary and middle school-age students with insight to solve issues of equity within their communities.

Role Overview:

  • The Dreamweaver serves as the vital bridge between Inner Spark Learning Lab and one partner school, ensuring that programs reflect the unique needs, culture, and aspirations of that specific school community. In this pilot year, the Dreamweaver will co-design and test systems that will later be scaled across ISLL’s future school sites. This means a mix of hands-on program support (≈30%) and systems-building/documentation (≈70%). The Dreamweaver will be embedded on campus, building and refining systems that define how ISLL partners with schools — from communication and data collection to family engagement and knowledge sharing. Rooted in care, curiosity, and collaboration, this role transforms insights from the classroom and community into structures that strengthen connection, learning, and impact.


What you'll do:

  • Build, Test, and Refine Systems:
    • Collect and analyze data such as attendance, student surveys, project outcomes, and family feedback to identify trends, needs, and opportunities unique to the school site.
    • Design and test data collection systems that make it easier for staff and students to share feedback—such as quick survey routines, observation templates, or reflection forms—and refine them based on what proves most effective at that school.
    • Translate findings into actionable insights that strengthen programming, improve student and family experiences, and inform ISLL-wide learning.
    • Collaborate with the ISLL team to build frameworks and documentation that capture what’s working at this site and how those practices can be adapted for other schools.
    • Create accessible summaries (e.g., short reports or dashboards) to share key learnings with the school community and ISLL team, closing the loop between data, action, and reflection.
  • Program Implementation and Facilitator Support:
    • Manage and support the school-based Facilitator to ensure cohesive implementation of ISLL’s programs and alignment with the school’s goals and needs.
    • Provide regular coaching, feedback, and coordination to help the Facilitator bring ISLL’s curriculum and learning approach to life.
    • Collaborate with the Facilitator and Curriculum Designer to integrate the school community’s unique needs and context into programming and curriculum.
    • Identify and implement strategies that reflect the cultural, social, and educational needs of the school community
  • Community Engagement and Relationship Building:
    • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with school staff, families, and community stakeholders through consistent communication, presence on campus, and collaborative problem-solving.
    • Serve as the main point of connection between ISLL and the school community, ensuring clear communication and mutual understanding.
    • Observe and document how the school community naturally engages — noting what communication methods, events, and family touchpoints are most effective — and use these learnings to create systems that can be replicated or adapted across other ISLL sites.
    • Co-develop school-specific engagement strategies (e.g., family events, resource-sharing systems, or student showcases) that reflect the culture and priorities of that site.


Our ideal candidate will have:

  • 3–5 years of experience in education, youth development, or community-based programs and have led or coached others while building or refining systems that strengthen collaboration and learning.
  • Natural relationship-builder and systems thinker skills with the ability to connect deeply with students, families, and staff while designing structures that make it easier to respond to real needs within the school community.
  • Experience creating and managing databases (e.g., spreadsheets, Airtable, or similar tools) that organize feedback and data in ways that help identify and recommend the right resources or supports for your partner school.
  • The belief that effective systems come from the community itself—valuing culturally responsive, student-centered education and designing processes rooted in local context and voice.
  • Strong organization skills, be detail-oriented, and skilled at documenting learnings so others can build upon them.
  • The ability to thrive in startup-like environments where roles and systems are evolving.


How You Might Spend Your Week:

  • Meeting with the principal to align on upcoming school priorities and ISLL programming

  • Co-facilitating a student focus group to gather insights on what’s working in the learning environment

  • Drafting a new family communication system (e.g., text reminders, newsletters, or event calendars) and testing it with a small group of families

  • Coaching the Facilitator on family engagement strategies and co-observing a class session to identify learning opportunities

  • Synthesizing data from student and family surveys into a shared Airtable or dashboard to inform program improvements

  • Hosting a family lunch or connecting parents with community resources, then capturing takeaways to strengthen future systems

  • Documenting learnings and drafting a short reflection or playbook entry to inform how future Dreamweavers will partner with schools


Pay Scale:

  • Salary range: $83,000-$90,000
  • Medical, Dental, Vision, Chiropractic/Acupuncture, and Life Insurance Insurance (100% covered by the org)
  • $1,000 learning stipend
  • $250 Monthly Housing Stipend
  • $150 Wellness Stipend
