Steno is growing! We’re looking for a Senior Calendar Associate (Interpreter Location Services/) to join our winning team, which is revolutionizing the court reporting industry every single day. As a Calendar Associate (Interpreter/Location Services), your primary responsibility is to facilitate effective communication between non-English-speaking clients and legal professionals by coordinating and scheduling qualified interpreters, as well as sourcing appropriate and cost-effective locations for legal proceedings. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring smooth and accurate interpretation services during legal proceedings, client meetings, and other relevant interactions.

On a regular basis you will
Research and onboard freelance interpreters and agencies, negotiating rates to maximize margins.
Match appropriate interpreters based on language proficiency, specialization, and knowledge of legal terminology.
Efficiently allocate and schedule interpreters for upcoming depositions and legal proceedings..
Coordinate with clients and interpreters to confirm availability and secure commitments.
Ensure that interpreters are adequately briefed on the context, legal terminology, and expectations for each assignment.
Monitor and evaluate interpreter performance, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
Manage logistics and ensure smooth sailing on the day of the deposition.
Maintain an updated database of appropriate conference rooms and other facilities for frequently scheduled regions.
Obtain cost effective solutions for clients without sacrificing quality of conference rooms and other locations.
You’re gonna crush it if
You have 2+ years of experience working within the legal services industry, specifically in the scheduling of interpreters and/or locations.
You have strong organizational, multitasking, and interpersonal skills.
You have knowledge of legal terminology and procedures.
You have familiarity with interpreter certification programs and requirements.

The Provider Operations team is the court reporter’s and the interpreters best friend, always working to get the professional on the right job every time, and keeping them cared for all along the way. Our recruiting, rates and relationship staff brings reporters and interpreters into Steno and provides them all of the tools they need to have their best Steno experience. Our calendar staff manages the breadth of jobs Steno takes, and ensures they are covered completely and correctly.
Our Provider Operations team drives and refines our reporter and interpreter base, ensuring a quality experience in deposition for all involved, with the ultimate goal of ensuring Steno continues to be a top court reporting and litigation support services agency for our law firm clients.
