Steno is growing! We’re looking for a Medical Records Coordinator to join our winning team, which is revolutionizing the court reporting industry every single day. In this role, you will review personal injury client files to determine medical treatment details and obtain complete medical records by coordinating with law firms and healthcare providers. You will organize and prepare records and exhibits in a clear, chronological format. You will also ensure all records are accurate, complete, and compliant with HIPAA requirements.

As a Medical Records Coordinator at Steno, you’ll make a direct impact on our clients by ensuring timely, accurate, and well-organized medical records that support their cases. You’ll serve as a key point of contact between healthcare providers and law firms, helping deliver the high level of service Steno is known for.

On a regular basis, you will

  • Intake and review client information and files to determine whether medical treatment was received, including type, location, and duration of care.
  • Follow up to obtain relevant documents and information related to medical treatment.
  • Communicate with law firms, healthcare providers, and medical facilities to request and retrieve medical records, including medical history, examination results, diagnostic tests, treatment methods, and related services.
  • Maintain and organize exhibits, documents, and medical records in a clear, chronological, and presentation-ready format.


You’re gonna crush if

  • You have 2+ years of professional experience in a healthcare or personal injury environment with familiarity in medical records, billing, insurance, or treatment documentation
  • You have a strong understanding of medical terminology and hands-on experience working within HIPAA regulations.
  • You’re highly organized and comfortable handling sensitive medical information with accuracy and discretion.
  • You’re experienced in requesting, tracking, and following up on medical records from healthcare providers and medical facilities.
  • Knowledge of medical coding or billing is a plus.
  • Familiarity with litigation paralegal procedures and practices is a plus.
  • You’re detail-oriented, able to manage multiple requests at once, and effective at prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • You’re a quick learner who adapts easily to new systems and processes.

We work closely with Customer Success and Legal Operations to keep cases moving accurately and eliminate friction in a process that demands precision and follow-through.
