Director of Strategic Operations, Operations (Remote)
Full-Time, Remote / Salary, Exempt / Includes Benefits, PTO, Flexible Schedule, Equity
Steno is growing! We’re looking for a Director of Strategic Operations to join our winning team and support our mission of redefining court reporting and litigation services for modern law firms. We’re a diverse team from all over the country (and beyond) and we’re crazy about pushing the boundaries of an outdated industry.
In this critical role, you will drive projects and assignments that have the highest impact on our Operations team and the company as a whole. You’ll drive growth initiatives while also implementing the processes, roles, and tools to scale effectively and partner closely with leaders across the company to provide the highest quality deliverables to our customers.
Who are you?
We’re looking for an individual who enjoys tackling complex and ambiguous challenges, surfacing critical insights from our data, engaging with internal and external stakeholders, and who sees a broken or unscalable process and immediately wants to fix it. You also have experience in marketplace dynamics and enjoy deeply understanding what drives the behaviors of all marketplace participants. You’re proactive, detail oriented, highly reliable and organized, and an enthusiastic and motivating leader.
If you’re looking for a company that offers support, guidance, an abundance of killer giphys, and unlimited potential to grow into your best self, you can bet we’d love to have you too.
On a regular basis you will
- Lead strategic projects and critical company initiatives
- Help to make effective decisions even when faced with imperfect information, crunched timeline, and finite resources
- Conduct detailed research on a wide range of projects and distill takeaways into succinct, salient points
- Partner closely with technical teams to define product requirements
- Collect, preprocess, and analyze data for both quick assessments and in-depth investigations
- Own project management of timely preparation and creation of presentation materials for audiences ranging from internal staff, to investors, to partners, and to the public
- Manage, guide, and develop more junior team members to produce timely and analytically rigorous deliverables
- Revamp unscalable processes and set up all elements of Operations to scale efficiently
You’re gonna crush it if
- You have 7+ years experience in a strategic operations, business operations, consulting, or similar role, ideally at a high growth startup
- You have experience managing teams and enjoy fostering teamwork and getting results
- You have a high aptitude and ability to rapidly self-teach on a wide range of topics
- You have excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven mindset
- You have strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments.
- You have experience working with marketplaces and understanding the needs of various stakeholders
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary - $150,000 - $190,000 in base salary, plus annual bonus based on goals set by your manager
- Health, Vision, & Dental Benefits - generous company-sponsored health plans for both employees and dependents, including comprehensive vision & dental
- Wellness/Mental Health - shared benefits to be used among employees and families
- Flexible Paid Time Off - allowing employees to find balance in their lives
- Options of Equity - we know our success is nothing without our team
- Access to a 401k through Guideline
- A home office setup and a monthly stipend to offset internet and phone costs
