Senior Operations & Systems Manager

Senior Operations & Systems Manager, Operations (Remote)

Full-Time, Remote / Salary, Exempt

Includes Benefits, PTO, Flexible Schedule, Equity

Steno is growing! We’re looking for a Senior Operations & Systems Manager to join our winning team, which is revolutionizing the court reporting industry every single day. We’re a diverse team from all over the country (and beyond), and we’re crazy about redefining the boundaries of an outdated industry.

In this role, you will own process engineering and automation across the organization. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Operations, you'll map workflows, identify bottlenecks, and build scalable solutions that make the business run more efficiently.

Who are you?

We're looking for someone who instinctually sees how to improve workflows and understands how systems connect. You understand current tools and know how to partner with technical teams to build sustainable solutions that drive both quality and efficiency. If you like problem-solving across all elements of a fulfillment business and turning complex challenges into elegant, user-friendly solutions, this is the role for you.

If you’re looking for a company that offers support, guidance, an abundance of killer giphys, and unlimited potential to grow into your best self, you can bet we’d love to have you too.

On a regular basis you will

  • Become the process and automation trusted expert cross-functionally, building and designing scalable processes that drive efficiency and effectiveness for the business
  • Own configuration of operational tools (Zendesk, CRM, scheduling, billing) and build knowledge bases that help the team work better
  • Discover, evaluate, and implement automation solutions and tools across workflows
  • Keep building expertise by staying current on the AI/automation landscape—know what's out there and what fits our needs
  • Partner with our technical teams to ideate, prototype, and integrate new solutions into our existing platforms
  • Use data to drive decision-making, bring other leaders along, and make elegant and thoughtful recommendations
  • Build dashboards that track operational health and process performance to help with strategic decision-making
  • Lead cross-functional problem solving across Rev Ops, Customer Success, Service Lines, and Fulfillment—understand their pain points and build solutions
  • Explain new solutions, processes, tools, and workflows in clear language for non-technical stakeholders
  • Drive adoption of new tools and processes

You’re gonna crush it if

  • You have 5+ years in operations, process engineering, or systems roles at high-growth companies
  • You've built processes, tools, and workflows from scratch that were adopted and delivered measurable business outcomes.
  • You have strong data skills: SQL proficiency, BI tools (Looker, Tableau), and are comfortable with Python or similar
  • You have technical fluency—you can talk to engineers, understand APIs, and configure complex tools
  • You have a logistics mindset: you see a process and instinctively know how to make it faster, cheaper, better
  • You have high EQ and collaboration skills—you build trust across teams and drive adoption without authority
  • You have a bias for execution; you ship improvements, not just recommendations

Bonus points if

  • You have experience at a fast-scaling startup
  • You have experience in legal tech, professional services, or marketplace operations
  • You have familiarity with modern data stack (Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran)
  • You have experience with knowledge management tools (Guru, Notion, Confluence)

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary - $120,000 - $150,000
  • Health, Vision, & Dental Benefits - low-cost health plans that free up mind space and unlock our employees' best work
  • Wellness/Mental Health - shared benefits to be used among employees and families
  • Flexible Paid Time Off - allowing employees to find balance in their lives
  • Options of Equity - we know our success is nothing without our team
  • Access to a company-provided 401(k) account
  • A home office setup and a monthly stipend to offset internet and phone costs
