Job Summary

The Studio Museum in Harlem seeks a Digital Producer to work on the development of public-facing digital content that contributes to an engaging audience experience on studiomuseum.org and the Museum’s diverse digital platforms.  Working closely with the Media and Communications team, the producer will work across program areas at the Museum, including exhibitions, live programming, and events.  

 

Reporting to the Associate Director of Digital Marketing and Communications, the Digital Producer will develop and organize video and audio content for use across the institution’s digital platforms, including social media, website, and email, as well as for archival purposes to expand the Museum’s digital assets with the opening of the Museum’s new building. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

Digital Content Production 

  • Support the development and production of video and audio content for the Studio Museum’s digital channels, including editorial content, video and audio, and online features.  
  • Stay up to date on digital production best practices, supporting the growth of the Museum’s digital content strategy. 
  • Responsible for video documentation of exhibition installations, events and programs, and live streams as needed. 
  • Collaborate with designers, content producers, and stakeholders across the Museum to storyboard, script, shoot, edit, and institutional video content for different formats and platforms. 

Content Management 

  • Support the upkeep of the Museum’s website and other digital platforms, with the goal of creating a rich digital content library.  
  • Perform content updates, uploads, and edits to the website 
  • Maintain a regular upload schedule to the Bloomberg Connects digital guide 
  • Create and communicate schedules and track milestones and deliverables for each project.  
  • Contribute to and improve production and editorial guidelines and workflows.  
  • Other duties as assigned  

Skills and Qualifications  

  • Proven background in videography required, experience in photography a plus 
  • Proven experience in planning, producing, and editing small to medium-scale video projects 
  • Demonstrated relevant experience working with varied forms of digital content across web and social media platforms 
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills and the ability to oversee projects from conception to delivery 
  • Knowledge of best practices for content management systems 
  • Understanding of digital audience needs and expectations 
  • Understanding of digital preservation practices  
  • Excellent attention to detail 


Education and Experience 

  • 2-3 years working in content production, videography, and video and audio editing 
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and/or After Effects 
  • Knowledge of equipment, setting, and other videography best practices 
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills  
  • Ability to work collaboratively and execute projects in a team and independently  
  • Ability to meet deadlines and multitask concurrent creative projects 


Physical Demands 

  • Must be able to lift and carry video equipment weighing up to 25–50 lbs on a regular basis. 
  • Requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods, often in various shooting environments (indoor, outdoor). 
  • Must be able to operate cameras, tripods, audio gear, and other production tools. 
  • Ability to set up and break down equipment multiple times per day, sometimes under tight deadlines or in physically demanding conditions. 
  • May require transporting gear up and down stairs or over long distances. 

Compensation

$60,000 - $65,000 annually


This position is a non-exempt position and may require working more than forty (40) hours during a work week. Salary is commensurate with experience within the guidelines of a small not-for-profit. A competitive benefits package is provided, including medical, dental, life and long-term disability insurance, a retirement account, and substantial vacation time.
