Job Summary
The Studio Museum in Harlem seeks an exceptional and well-organized individual, who has an affable personality, takes initiative, curious and solution oriented, and is capable of functioning in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
The Talent Acquisition Coordinator is responsible for supporting the activities of Studio Museums Talent Acquisition engine, Rippling. As the People & Culture Talent Coordinator, you will often act as the “face” of HR for new employees joining Studio Museum. In addition, the People & Culture Talent Coordinator will be a bridge between the hiring managers and People Operations/HRIS functions, helping to onboard new employees and ensure everything is in place for them as they begin their experience with the company. The ideal candidate has a passion for HR, enjoys interacting with candidates and new hires, and fast paced experience in a non-profit Museum.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition and Staff Transitions
- Responsible for employee full cycle including onboarding and offboarding.
- Assists with recruitment, onboarding, and helping guide employees through a New Hire Orientation.
- Coordinate with IT and other department for onboarding needs.
- Assist with training hiring managers on ATS use and develop ways to hold them accountable to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Generates conditional offer letters, benefits termination letter, and exit questionnaire.
- Verifies I-9 documentation and maintains Personnel files.
- Submits online investigation requests and assists with new-employee background checks.
- Assist hiring managers with screening candidates and scheduling interviews.
- Partner with Institute Manager to expand and further develop talent pipeline and select high caliber candidates for open positions.
Culture and Engagement
- Works closely with Director of People Operations to plan, develop and implement programs and strategies to grow employee experience and promote inclusion and engagement, while adhering to the Museum's mission and values.
- Assist with planning and coordinating quarterly All-Staff meetings.
- Assists with events and projects associated with staff engagement and functions.
- Fosters and exemplifies behaviors and attitudes consistent with Studio Museum in Harlem’s mission, core values and desired organizational culture.
Other Responsibilities
- Assisting with implementation of 30, 60, 90 day reviews and Annual Performance Management including compensation letters.
- Assist administering HR Compliance and Manager trainings through LMS and third parties.
- Assist with People & Culture Presentations and Newsletters.
- Monthly Employee engagement events
- Provides People & Culture reports on retention, headcount, audits, and others
- Update HR calendar and coordinate meetings
- Responsible for data management and personnel files
- Responsible for coordinating HR Compliance trainings
- All other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
- At least one years as a Recruiter or HR coordinator.
- In-depth knowledge of human resource principles, practices and procedures.
- Hands on experience in using MS Office Suite, databases and HRIS systems
- Calendar management
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field, and/or equivalent experience.
- 1-3 years in the nonprofit and/or cultural sector highly desirable
- Strong networking and marketing skillset.
Physical Demands
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while working at a desk.
- Regular movement throughout the building to attend meetings, assist with events, and collaborate with staff.
- Occasional lifting and transporting of materials or equipment (up to 20 pounds).
- Frequent use of standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and telephones.
- Clear verbal and written communication in person, over the phone, and via email.

Compensation
$55,000 - $60,000 annually
Salary is commensurate with experience within the guidelines of a small not-for-profit. A competitive benefits package is provided, including medical, dental, life and long-term disability insurance, a retirement account, and substantial vacation time.
