About the role

The Saw Operator is responsible for fabricating materials using appropriate machines in a safe, efficient, and timely manner, with a primary focus on sawing and processing steel. This role plays a critical part in our production process, ensuring the precise cutting and shaping of materials to meet specifications.


What you'll do

  • Operate industrial saws to cut steel materials to specified lengths and tolerances.
  • Select and use the proper tools, materials, and equipment for fabrication.
  • Read, interpret, and follow production drawings accurately.
  • Produce quality components on schedule while meeting production goals.
  • Operate multiple machines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and report or recommend necessary repairs.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and compliance with company safety procedures.
  • Safely handle and transport materials, supplies, and products using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical, vocational, or trade school education preferred.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Proven experience as a Saw Operator or in a similar manufacturing role, with experience in sawing and processing steel preferred.
  • Familiarity with material handling equipment, such as forklifts, cranes, and pallet jacks.
  • Ability to interpret production drawings.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
  • Aluminum and steel welding and fabrication is preferred.

Working Conditions and Physical Efforts:

  • Work involves walking, talking, hearing, lifting, pushing, pulling, and/or carrying up to 100 pounds occasionally, in addition to using material handling equipment.
  • May be required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Vision abilities require close vision assessments. Moderately loud noise levels when heavy machinery is running. 
  • Close vision assessments may be necessary.
  • Moderate noise levels due to machinery and generators.

Travel Requirements: Travel is not required.

The pay range for this role is:

20 - 25 USD per hour (Summerset - Whitewater)
