About the role

The Safety Intern will support the Safety and Operations teams in promoting a safe, compliant, and efficient work environment. This role provides hands-on experience in jobsite safety, OSHA compliance, and risk prevention across construction, manufacturing, and field operations. The intern will gain exposure to real-world safety programs while working closely with experienced professionals in a regulated industry.

What you'll do

  • Assist with jobsite safety inspections and hazard identification.
  • Support OSHA compliance efforts, including documentation and recordkeeping.
  • Help maintain safety logs, reports, and training records.
  • Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training initiatives.
  • Assist with incident reporting, investigations, and corrective action tracking.
  • Support PPE compliance and safety policy enforcement.
  • Collaborate with field supervisors and leadership to promote a strong safety culture.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid Driver's License. 
  • Pursuing a degree in Safety Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with field and office staff.
  • Willingness to work in an active construction and marine environment.
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations is preferred.

Working Conditions and Physical Efforts:

  • Work is performed in a combination of office, manufacturing, warehouse, and construction jobsites.
  • Regular exposure to construction and manufacturing hazards, including heavy equipment, moving machinery, and power tools.
  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, and sun.
  • Work involves walking, talking, hearing, lifting, pushing, pulling and/or carrying up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • May be required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl.  Vision abilities require close vision assessments. Moderately loud noise levels in the work environment. 
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Steel-toe boots are required. 

Travel Requirements: Travel to job sites and company locations.

The pay range for this role is:

20 - 22 USD per hour (Summerset - Whitewater)
