About the role

We are looking for a skilled Marine Construction Field Welder to join our team. This role involves installing, removing, and maintaining piers, boat lifts, and accessories using hand tools and machinery. You will play a key role in the construction, maintenance, and repair of marine structures, including welding steel and aluminum components. The work will take place in various weather conditions, requiring adaptability and a strong work ethic. 

What you'll do

  • Assist in the construction, maintenance, and dismantling of docks, piers, and other marine structures.
  • Load, unload, identify, and distribute building materials and equipment as needed for daily operations.
  • Strong welding and fabrication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Knowledge of various welding techniques and equipment.
  • Commitment to safety and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Operate heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, and loaders.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Load, unload, and distribute construction materials using heavy machinery.
  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Assist in the preparation and site setup for construction projects.
  • Perform precision tasks such as grading, trenching, and digging using heavy equipment.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within specifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • CDL A preferred.
  • Proficient in operating heavy machinery.
  • Previous experience welding steel and aluminum.
  • Previous experience in a marine or construction environment is highly advantageous.
  • Ability to swim and comfort working on or near water.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, basic carpentry, and machinery.
  • Boaters Safety.
  • Certification in CPR and first aid is a plus.

Working Conditions and Physical Efforts

  • Work involves walking, talking, hearing, lifting, pushing, pulling and/or carrying up to 100 pounds occasionally in addition to using material handling equipment.
  • May be required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl.  Vision abilities require close vision assessments. Moderately loud noise levels in the work environment. 
  • Steel toe boots are required.

Travel Requirements: Travel to jobsites is required.

The pay range for this role is:

25 - 28 USD per hour (Summerset - Door County)
