About the Role
The Press Brake Operator is responsible for safely bending and forming metal sheets and plates to precise specifications. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings in a fast‑paced, safety‑focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate press brake equipment to bend and form metal components according to specifications.
- Review bills of materials and verify material type, thickness, and measurements for accuracy.
- Inspect incoming material and finished parts to ensure quality standards are met.
- Select and properly store tooling to maintain tool life and part quality.
- Safely guide and position material during forming operations.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders.
- Complete required paperwork accurately and on time.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area in alignment with Super Steel’s 7S standards.
- Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance and safety checks on equipment.
- Support team members and perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 4+ years of press brake experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of press brake operations.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders with high accuracy.
- Solid math skills, including fractions and measurement conversions.
- Experience using handheld and mechanical measuring tools.
- Ability to work independently and occasionally in a team setting.
- Basic computer skills; Microsoft Office experience preferred.
