What You’ll Do 

 

Position Summary


The Certified Pharmacy Technician, known internally as a Medication Specialist will play a critical role in driving pharmacy and medication related operations to enhance the quality of care for Suvida patients. This individual will focus on supporting the clinical staff and patients through medication management support, program integration, and practice transformation. The Medication Specialist will communicate with and coordinate between patients, pharmacies, and clinical staff to identify, resolve, and prevent medication-related problems. The position will also serve as subject matter expert in various areas (including refills, prior authorizations, and medication adherence best practices).  


Responsibilities


  • Review, document, and outreach to patient, pharmacies, and clinical staff on Star/HEDIS opportunities 
  • Navigate multiple systems and sources of truth to ensure accuracy across all medication stakeholders (ie Pharmacy, EHR, etc.) 
  • Work with other staff and patients with medication services for patients to identify, resolve, and prevent medication-related barriers to adherence and access 
  • Partner with the leadership, administrative, and clinical staff to identify trends observed and potential strategies to support best practice around medication adherence and access 
  • Assist clinical pharmacists as needed for care coordination and medication reconciliation  
  • Maintains education and knowledge base of pharmacy related HEDIS/STARs measures 
  • Participates in quality improvement programs and initiatives driven by clinical needs 
  • Utilize pharmacy benefit manager resources and maintain comprehensive knowledge base on all heath plan pharmacy benefits 
  • Maintains education and knowledge base of refills and prior authorization workflows 
  • Assist in the development and presentation of educational materials for patients and providers 
  • Responsible for understanding Suvida’s clinical programs, identifying practice opportunities for integrating programs and resources into the practice workflows with the intent to optimize the patient experience, improve quality of care, and positively impact resource utilization 
  • Ensure patients have a positive experience by providing a high level of service promptly, professionally, and empathetically 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, solve problems, and make sound decisions in a timely fashion 
  • Possess both verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal relationship skills and problem-solving skills 

 

What You’ll Bring

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • 5+ years of retail/community pharmacy experience 
  • Advanced in Microsoft office platforms including word, excel, and power point 
  • Bilingual/Bicultural (English and Spanish) 

  

Education, Experience, Licensure, or Certification Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED 
  • CPhT degree or equivalent education in healthcare 
  • Active, unrestricted CPhT license in Texas, or the ability to obtain one
