QI Summer Internship

We are a nonprofit dedicated to facilitating research and driving improvements in care and outcomes for people with type 1 diabetes. Our mission is to help those with Type 1 diabetes live better, longer lives.

About the role

This internship will be remote work with the Quality Improvement (QI) and Population Health Team at T1D Exchange. It will engage with real-world data platforms and leverage clinical datasets, using implementation science approaches to support population health research. This is an excellent opportunity for a student to work closely in the healthcare space while collaborating with a dynamic, highly interdisciplinary team. The intern will develop skills in quantitative and performance improvement analysis and will be expected to take initiative by completing the design and implementation of the QI Team’s 2026 Annual Survey.

What you'll do

·         Support the QI team on ongoing initiatives

·         Assist in developing statistical analysis plans for QI projects

·         Perform data analysis to generate insights from endocrine centers’ data and clearly communicate findings

·         Identify and propose new areas of study aligned with the organization’s mission, informed trends in the type 1 diabetes community and internal data

·         Assist in the preparation of a manuscript or abstracts for presentation at scientific conferences

Qualifications

·         Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in statistics, data science, or a related quantitative field

·         Practical knowledge in quantitative analytics

·         Experience designing surveys (e.g., skip logic, branching, etc.)

·         Experience with data management and relational databases

·         Ability to clearly present data summaries using visual formats (graphs, figures, and tables)

·         Strong written and verbal communication skills

·         Enthusiasm for working in and learning about healthcare and quality improvement
