Job Title: Staff Accountant

Location: Remote

Reports To: Accounting Manager

Employment Classification: Hourly Non-Exempt, Part-Time (20-25 hrs/week)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable part-time Staff Accountant with a strong focus on

Accounts Payable (AP) to support our accounting operations. This role ensures vendor

obligations are processed accurately, timely, and records remain organized.

In addition to managing the full AP cycle, the Staff Accountant will support core accounting

functions such as the billing department, account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end

close activities. The ideal candidate is highly detailed, organized, and comfortable working

independently in a hands-on accounting environment.


Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable

 Process vendor invoices accurately and timely, ensuring proper coding

 Manage vendor relationships, respond to inquiries, and resolve discrepancies

 Prepare weekly ACH and wire payment listings

 Maintain AP aging schedules and assist with cash flow planning

 Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance AP accuracy and efficiency


General Accounting

 Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations

 Support accruals and prepaid expense accounting

 Maintain accurate and organized accounting records

 Support external audits and maintain audit-ready accounting documentation

 Provide backup support for other accounting functions when required


Qualifications:

 Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent

experience)

 Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and month end close processes

 Proficiency with accounting software (specifically QuickBooks Online)

 Strong Microsoft Excel skills

 High attention to detail and accuracy

 Clear communication skills and ability to work independently as well as with a team

 Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines


Physical Requirements:

This position primarily operates in an office environment. The role requires the ability to sit for

extended periods, use a computer and other standard office equipment, and occasionally lift or

move items up to 10–15 pounds. Some walking, bending, and standing may be required.


Compensation and Benefits:

 $28/hour

 Paid time off (vacation, sick leave, and holidays as outlined in the company handbook)
