Game Plan - How You'll Drive Impact:
- Build end-to-end data science solutions involving predictive models, data retrieval, statistical modeling, and productionalization
- Design and implement sports analytics tools and metrics for athlete evaluation and roster optimization
- Contribute to project design decisions with guidance, applying standard patterns and best practices
- Manage tasks independently with guidance on prioritization and strategic alignment
- Actively participate in team discussions and collaborative decision-making processes
- Understand product features and contribute to customer needs across different sports
- Engage in cross-functional collaboration with engineering teams to deploy models
- Work with Python, R, and SQL to build comprehensive sports intelligence solutions
Additionally, a Data Scientist II will be expected to:
- Build complete end-to-end data science solutions involving predictive models, data retrieval, statistical modeling, and productionalization
- Design and implement sports analytics tools and metrics for team evaluation and performance optimization
- Contribute to project design decisions with guidance, applying standard patterns and best practices
- Manage tasks independently with guidance on prioritization and strategic alignment

- Engage in cross-functional collaboration with engineering teams to deploy models
Additionally, a Senior Data Scientist will be expected to:
- Lead the design and development of complex, high-impact data science tools involving technically complex methodology

- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior data scientists, fostering innovation and best practices
- Manage multiple priorities independently while making strategic decisions with minimal oversight

- Contribute to the evolution of Teamworks Intelligence products through deep product knowledge and discovery processes
- Solve complex, cross-functional problems and navigate high ambiguity situations

The Ideal Recruit - Skills & Experience:
- Advanced degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or related quantitative field (PhD preferred for Senior level)
- Demonstrated experience applying data science techniques to sports analytics or similar domains
- Familiarity with distributed computing concepts and cloud-based data processing
- Experience with sports tracking data, athlete evaluation metrics, or team analytics
- Understanding of Agile project management methodologies
- Track record of delivering data science projects from concept to production
- For Senior level: Significant experience in sports analytics with professional or collegiate teams, expertise in MLOps practices, track record of publishing research or presenting at conferences, and proven ability to mentor team members and lead technical initiatives

Compensation Philosophy:
For this role, the salary range is $120,000-$140,000-$160,000, with your final offer determined by your experience, skills, and interview performance. Every Teamworks teammate is an owner, with equity aligning your success with ours.
