Principal Mobile Engineer - Remote

As a Principal Mobile Engineer at Teamworks, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our mobile ecosystem. You will lead the development of an ambitious initiative to unify multiple existing mobile applications—such as AMS, Nutrition, and Strength—into a cohesive, high-performance mobile experience. Your expertise in React Native will be crucial as you spearhead this multi-phase initiative, helping ensure that the new mobile platform is scalable, efficient, and user-friendly.


You will be deeply involved in building new applications and integrating existing ones, as well as driving cross-functional collaboration to ensure the success of the mobile experience. Responsibilities:

  • Help lead the development and integration of high-quality, well-tested mobile applications using React Native, with a focus on unifying existing mobile apps into a single platform.
  • Drive the development of shared mobile code (theme libraries, authentication, host apps) and cross-product features like universal landing pages and onboarding workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather learnings and iterate on feedback, producing guidelines for subsequent apps within the ecosystem.
  • Oversee the development of new mobile builds for AMS and Strength, as well as the rewrite of Nutrition into React Native.
  • Identify and address performance issues, collaborating with product teams to ensure seamless migration and maintenance across mobile apps.
  • Participate in design and code reviews to ensure best practices and standards for unit testing, security, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Research new features, technologies, and trends to share with the front-end community at Teamworks.


Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience with React Native / React.
  • Proven track record of delivering code at scale in production environments.
  • Extensive experience with APIs (GraphQL / Rest).
  • Expertise with modern React standards (Hooks, functional components, context, etc.).


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with TypeScript.
  • Experience with end-to-end testing mobile applications.
  • Knowledge of Re.Pack for React Native.
