Game Plan - How You'll Drive Impact:
- Partner directly with professional soccer clubs to support their platform usage, answer technical questions, and fulfill ad-hoc analytical requests that inform tactical and strategic decisions
- Communicate complex soccer data models and insights in clear, accessible terms to diverse stakeholders including coaches, analysts, and club executives
- Leverage advanced soccer metrics such as expected goals (xG), expected assists (xA), expected threat (xT), VAEP, and adjusted plus-minus to generate actionable insights for club partners
- Conduct sophisticated ad-hoc analyses using R and SQL to develop compelling insights for both technical and non-technical audiences across various club departments
- Design and develop interactive visualizations and R Shiny applications that make complex soccer data accessible and actionable for club decision-makers
- Provide first-line technical support by triaging and troubleshooting platform and pipeline issues to ensure seamless user experiences
- Collaborate closely with engineering and data science teams to analyze soccer data trends and inform product development roadmaps
- Transform complex soccer concepts and club requirements into clear technical specifications that guide product enhancement initiatives
- Manage multiple project workstreams using agile methodologies to enhance team collaboration and delivery efficiency across time zones
Player Profile - What You Bring to the Team:
- Proficiency in R and SQL for comprehensive data analysis, visualization, and ad-hoc reporting, with experience in R Shiny applications preferred
- Hands-on experience with advanced soccer metrics including xG, xA, xT, and adjusted plus-minus, with the ability to explain their practical applications
- Familiarity with major soccer data sources such as StatsBomb, Opta/StatsPerform, Wyscout, and SkillCorner, understanding their strengths and limitations
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities to convey complex analytical concepts clearly to diverse audiences through data visualizations and model outputs
- Experience with collaborative tools like Google Sheets for efficient data manipulation and club communication
- Understanding of agile project management principles for effective cross-functional team collaboration

Compensation Philosophy:
For this role, the salary range is £69,000-91,000, with your final offer determined by your experience, skills, and interview performance. Every Teamworks teammate is an owner, with equity aligning your success with ours.
