Staff Mobile Engineer - Remote

As a Staff Mobile Engineer at Teamworks, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our mobile ecosystem. You'll lead the development of an ambitious initiative to unify multiple existing mobile applications—such as AMS, Nutrition, and Strength & Conditioning—into a cohesive, high-performance mobile experience. Your expertise in React Native will be crucial as you spearhead this multi-phase initiative, helping ensure that the new mobile platform is scalable, efficient, and user-friendly. You'll be deeply involved in building new applications and integrating existing ones, while driving cross-functional collaboration to ensure the success of our unified mobile experience.

Game Plan - How You'll Drive Impact:

  • Lead the development and integration of high-quality, well-tested mobile applications using React Native, with a focus on unifying existing mobile apps into a single platform
  • Influence the mobile development strategy across all products, ensuring alignment with the overall product vision
  • Drive the development of shared mobile code (theme libraries, authentication, host apps) and cross-product features like universal landing pages and onboarding workflows
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather learnings and iterate on feedback, producing guidelines for subsequent apps within the ecosystem
  • Identify and address performance issues, collaborating with product teams to ensure seamless migration and maintenance across mobile apps
  • Participate in design and code reviews to ensure best practices and standards for unit testing, security, scalability, and maintainability
  • Research and experiment with new features, technologies, and trends to stay ahead in mobile development
  • Share findings and best practices with the Product Engineering community to foster knowledge sharing and continuous improvement

  • Proven ability to architect and develop robust, scalable mobile applications using React Native and React
  • Extensive experience in designing and implementing API integrations (GraphQL, REST), including optimizing data fetching and handling edge cases
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with backend teams to align API capabilities with mobile application needs
  • Advanced ability to diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks in mobile applications, ensuring smooth user experiences across devices and platforms
  • Skilled in cross-functional collaboration to gather feedback, iterate on solutions, and establish best practices for building and scaling mobile ecosystems
  • Demonstrated success in deploying high-quality code at scale in production environments, ensuring performance, reliability, and user satisfaction
  • Experience leading end-to-end mobile development projects from initial design through post-launch optimization

  • Demonstrated ability to write clean, type-safe, and maintainable code using TypeScript, with a focus on improving code reliability and development efficiency in mobile applications

  • Knowledge of Re.Pack for React Native to optimize mobile application performance, modularize codebases, or improve the build and deployment process

Compensation Philosophy:

For this role, the salary target is $210,000, with your final offer determined by your experience, skills, and interview performance. Every Teamworks teammate is an owner, with equity aligning your success with ours.
