Senior Project Manager

Project Overview

We are supporting a client who is undertaking significant software development initiatives. This complex program involves coordinating cross-functional technical teams, managing multiple workstreams, and ensuring successful delivery of software solutions that meet business objectives while maintaining quality standards and timelines.

The initiative encompasses application design and architecture, full-stack development, AI development, quality assurance, deployment strategies, and continuous improvement. A core aspect of this role is to serve as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring clear communication, alignment, and successful project outcomes.


Role Overview

This Senior Project Manager will oversee complex software development programs, focusing on end-to-end delivery of technical solutions from design through deployment. This is a full-time, remote role that will collaborate closely with client-side engineering leaders, product owners, and business stakeholders to capture requirements, refine project scope, and ensure seamless execution. The PM will directly oversee the design, development, and overall delivery of embedded Tech9 teams and integrate deeply with the client's product development resources.

The ideal candidate will bring structure, strong cross-functional leadership, Scrum expertise, and solid technical literacy across software development lifecycles and modern engineering practices. Hands-on coding is not required, though prior experience as a software engineer or in a deeply technical role is highly valued. 

This person should bring an agentic mindset to project management, actively looking for ways to use AI tools, automation, templates, and repeatable workflows to increase leverage, reduce manual coordination overhead, improve reporting, and help the team move faster with greater clarity. While AI-assisted workflows can reduce manual output, this role still requires strong initiative, personal drive, maturity, emotional intelligence, and the ability to build trust with both the client and the delivery team. 


Success in This Role Looks Like

Success in this role means quickly becoming a trusted extension of project leadership. The right person will bring structure to ambiguity, lead meetings with confidence, communicate clearly with technical and business stakeholders, and help keep roadmap priorities moving forward. They will bring an agentic approach to project management by looking for patterns, identifying repeatable workflows, and using AI tools, automation, templates, and lightweight systems to increase effectiveness and improve team visibility. They should be curious about making project management more scalable, intelligent, and less dependent on constant manual follow-up, while still applying strong judgment, ownership, and human communication where it matters most.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage end-to-end software development projects, from initial design through deployment and post-launch support.
  • Partner across business units with solution architects, product managers, technical leads, and engineers to gather detailed requirements and translate them into well-defined project scopes and technical specifications.
  • Meticulously manage project timelines, resource allocations, and risk mitigation plans.
  • Lead team and stakeholder meetings with clear agendas, strong facilitation, documented decisions, and actionable follow-up to keep work moving and maintain alignment.
  • Organize and lead structured Scrum ceremonies and foster continuous improvement practices across the full delivery team.
  • Consistently monitor project health and adjust delivery plans to maintain velocity, accountability, and delivery momentum.
  • Report progress and surface risks proactively to client stakeholders.
  • Take full responsibility for project outcomes with an extreme ownership mindset.
  • Bring an agentic project management mindset by identifying repeatable PM workflows that can be improved through AI, automation, templates, and scalable processes, including meeting preparation, summaries, action item tracking, documentation, roadmap visibility, risk surfacing, stakeholder updates, and lightweight automation opportunities with technical teams.

Minimum Requirements

  • Strong executive presence and client-facing communication skills, with the ability to build trust, facilitate alignment, and communicate with clarity under pressure.
  • 7+ years of experience managing technical projects involving software delivery, application development, platform implementations, or systems integration.
  • Demonstrated expertise in coordinating software development teams across design, development, and deployment phases.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches).
  • Experience with modern development practices including CI/CD, version control, and automated testing.
  • Demonstrated experience creating and using AI tools and automation to improve project management workflows, including meeting summaries, action item tracking, documentation, backlog refinement, reporting, risk identification, stakeholder communication, and decision follow-through.
  • Strong knowledge capture, stakeholder management, and technical project documentation skills.
  • Experience writing technical user stories and translating business and user needs into actionable development requirements.
  • Ability to work independently, balance priorities, and lead in high-pressure environments.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience supporting complex, multi-tiered software architectures and technical integrations.
  • Background in coordinating technical teams across different time zones and geographies.
  • Experience designing or using AI-enabled workflows, agentic tools, custom GPTs, Copilot-style assistants, automation platforms, or prompt systems to improve project delivery, team coordination, documentation, or reporting.
  • Prior experience in client-facing roles with high levels of ambiguity.
  • Familiarity with cyber security and compliance considerations, and global team coordination.
  • Experience facilitating engaging group discussions, workshops, training sessions, community events, or other settings that require confidence, timing, adaptability, and audience awareness.
  • Experience managing sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release planning activities.
  • Exposure to various technology stacks and frameworks (e.g., React, Node.js, .NET, Java, Python, cloud platforms like AWS or Azure).
