About the role

Techno is seeking a Cost Estimator to join our dynamic Construction Management team. In this role you will be managing and predicting the costs associated with project lifecycles. This role involves understanding and applying various estimation techniques to ensure accurate and reliable project cost predictions.


What you'll do

  • Review and evaluate project plans, specs and bid documents to produce an accurate and detailed cost proposal for all phases of design and/or construction.
  • Develop scope of work and estimates for change orders and manage the change order process.
  • Ensure that estimates are continually reviewed and revised as new information becomes available and more is known about the project.
  • Actively engage in comprehensive cost negotiations, collaborating with vendors and stakeholders to secure optimal financial terms and conditions.
  • Identify and address project risks, developing strategies to mitigate risk and lower expenses.


Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years electrical estimating experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes and electrical construction means and methods.
  • Familiarity with NYCDOT and NYCDEP Standards and Requirements.
  • Experience with infrastructure projects, particularly those located in the New York Metro region, is highly desirable.
  • Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as strong presentation abilities.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Expedition, OneDrive, SharePoint, eBuilder, and MS Teams.

The expected salary range for this role in the New York City Metropolitan Area is $50 - $65 per hour. The total compensation, including salary and bonuses, is determined by various factors such as experience, skill level, location, and qualifications, which are evaluated during the interview process


The pay range for this role is:

45 - 65 USD per hour (New York Office)
