About the role

Techno is seeking a Construction Manager to join our corporate team in our New York City Office. In this role, you will lead the installation, integration, testing, and commissioning of complex rail transit systems on a major infrastructure program.


The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in transit systems, with a particular focus on tunnel and underground rail environments. This is a leadership role that will provide strategic and technical direction across multiple systems disciplines.


What you'll do

  • Serve as a technical lead for all systems-related construction and integration efforts on large-scale transit and rail projects.
  • Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of core transit systems.
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA 130 and other applicable codes and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate system interface requirements with civil, architectural, and structural disciplines.
  • Implement solutions addressing issues that arise, while maintaining project timelines.
  • Lead and mentor systems engineering and construction teams; liaise with project stakeholders including public agencies, consultants, and contractors.
  • Manage interface control documentation, configuration management, and change control related to systems implementation.


Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience of rail, transit, system, track, signals, traction power, installation, testing, commissioning, etc.
  • Experience with rail transit systems on tunnel projects is a plus.
  • Experience with NFPA-130 Standard Development.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory compliance and safety certification for passenger rail systems.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a closely related field.
  • Proven track record of managing complex construction projects.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities. 
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, local regulations, and permitting processes.

The expected salary range for this role in the New York City Metropolitan Area is $128,000 - $231,000 per year. The total compensation, including salary and bonuses, is determined by various factors such as experience, skill level, location, and qualifications, which are evaluated during the interview process
