About the role

Techno is seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer to join our project team. In this role, you will be overseeing daily operations to ensure the effective completion of engineering and construction projects across multiple disciplines, while managing administrative and financial aspects to drive project success.


What you'll do

  • Manage day-to-day construction oversight/Assistant Resident Engineering efforts on Construction Projects
  • Monitor Contractor performance, schedule, overall responsiveness and effectiveness
  • Exerts influence over Contractors to maintain project goals regarding cost, schedule, quality, etc.
  • Manage CM inspection staff and the delivery of daily inspection reports in accordance with clients’ requirements
  • Act as liaison to design staff to respond to Contractors’ RFI's and review of shop drawings
  • Provide technical review of construction plans and specifications and project changes for constructability and practicality
  • Manage office staff responsible for record keeping, general correspondence, compiling and drafting of required reports and deliverables
  • Manage the Contractor payment process and recommends appropriate adjustments as necessary to manage the Contractor
  • Responsible for overall site safety, permit condition compliance and coordination with other client(s)
  • Use effective oral and written communication skills to effectively lead progress, project, safety, scheduling during construction progress meetings with client(s)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or a closely related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience managing construction work, encompassing a variety of project sizes (ranging from $5 Million to $100 Million plus) and complexities (involving multiple crews and crew sizes per shift).
  • Familiarity with NYCDDC, NYCDOT and NYCDEP Standards and Requirements is a plus.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Must have OSHA 10-hour certification.
  • Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as strong presentation abilities.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Expedition, OneDrive, SharePoint, eBuilder, and MS Teams.

The expected salary range for this role in the New York City Metropolitan Area is $91,400.00 - $154,950.00 per year. The total compensation, including salary and bonuses, is determined by various factors such as experience, skill level, location, and qualifications, which are evaluated during the interview process.
