About the role

Techno is seeking a Deputy Design Manager to join our corporate team in New Jersey/New York. In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape the technical direction of major infrastructure programs, mentor and develop junior engineers, and collaborate on projects having a lasting impact on regional mobility and public safety.


The ideal candidate has experience contributing to project proposals and a hands-on leadership style with strong professional presence with the ability to lead by example. What you'll do

  • Support the overall management and execution of a major infrastructure project or program.
  • Assist in coordinating design efforts across multidisciplinary teams to deliver critical transportation improvements.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among internal teams, external partners, and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure design processes align with project goals, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Oversee design workflows to ensure they meet project objectives, deadlines, and established quality benchmarks.
  • Support the management of a project or program with a total installed cost exceeding $1 billion.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a closely related field.
  • A minimum of 12 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Prior experience in Design/Build project delivery.
  • Professional Engineer license required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in roadway or bridge design.
  • Proven track record of leading and coordinating multidisciplinary teams on complex, high-visibility projects.

The expected salary range for this role in the New York City Metropolitan Area is $100,000 - $170,000 per year. The total compensation, including salary and bonuses, is determined by various factors such as experience, skill level, location, and qualifications, which are evaluated during the interview process
