What you'll do

Medical Assistant I

  • Process outbound referrals and prescription orders per provider instructions.
  • Coordinate laboratory, imaging, and other ancillary services as ordered.
  • Handle incoming prescription refill requests and route to providers for review.
  • Track and close open follow-up items and patient care tasks.
  • Support reporting and tracking for behavioral health screenings (PHQ-9, GAD-7) and Chronic Care Management (CCM) activities.
  • Triage and escalate clinical concerns to appropriate providers or teams.
  • Submit and follow up on prior authorization requests.
  • Respond to and process medical records requests in accordance with HIPAA.
  • Manage Creyos cognitive testing: send to patients, monitor completion, upload results.
  • Escalate incomplete provider notes, tasks, or orders to Provider Relations and Services Operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Medical Assistant II

  • All Medical Assistant I responsibilities, plus:
  • Serve as a liaison for training new team members.
  • Assist with problem solving and resolving patient concerns.

Medical Assistant III

  • All Medical Assistant I & II responsibilities, plus:
  • Lead and be accountable for new-hire training and development for 30-, 60-, and 90-day expectations.
  • Support Clinical Operations Managers and Directors as needed.
  • Serve as a team lead to disseminate updates on a routine basis.
  • Foster overall team productivity.
  • Set team goals for daily, weekly, and monthly objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Strong organizational skills; reliable follow-through on orders and tasks.
  • Clear written communication.
  • Comfort reviewing medical notes and task lists.
  • Ability to recognize when to escalate clinical issues.
  • Able to work independently and within a team.

Medical Assistant I

  • Minimum 1 year in a healthcare setting supporting clinical workflows.
  • Familiarity with prescription processing, referrals, prior authorizations, and care coordination.
  • Prior EMR/EHR experience a plus.
  • Telemedicine experience a plus.

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred.
