Presbyopia, the gradual loss of near vision that typically begins around age 45, affects about two billion people globally and 128 million people in the U.S. YUVEZZI™ is expected to be broadly commercially available in the U.S. in Q2 2026.

Role Overview 

We are seeking an Accounting Manager to be a key member of our Finance team. Reporting to the Controller, this position will support all aspects of the monthly accounting process, including preparation of journal entries, account and bank reconciliations, and financial reporting and analysis to ensure an accurate and timely monthly close. This position will also support the budgeting and forecasting process and provide accounting support to department and project managers. In addition, the Accounting Manager will play an integral role in implementing accounting systems and developing processes and procedures.  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Manage the monthly accounting close calendar to ensure the books are consistently closed on time
  • Reconcile select general ledger accounts
  • Account for complex transactions, including clinical trials, manufacturing and research contracts, and corporate collaborations
  • Maintain a chart of accounts, setting up new accounts and departments, as necessary
  • Prepare and manage general ledger postings to ensure proper coding to accounts and departments, and identify any discrepancies
  • Generate reports from the accounting system to populate the monthly financial reporting package and departmental reports, including monthly analysis of variances to budget and forecast
  • Update foreign exchange rates in the foreign exchange workbook and all accounting systems
  • Prepare monthly intercompany reconciliation and identify missing transactions
  • Draft the monthly intercompany foreign exchange impact journal entries
  • Maintain the monthly retained earnings rollforward
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements in the reporting currency
  • Oversee the preparation and filing of state and local tax returns
  • Provide support to external audit and tax firms
  • Support the quarterly and long-range forecasting process
  • Design and develop queries of financial data using pivot tables, v-lookups, macros, and other complex Excel functions
  • Provide financial analysis to departments, as requested
  • Support the Company’s development, implementation, and maintenance of Sarbanes-Oxley processes and controls
  • Participate in the Company’s migration to a new accounting system
  • Coordinate special projects/programs, as requested
  • Help with research of complex accounting issues, including reference to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Hire, train, and supervise staff


Expereince

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field
  • Experience with multi-currency consolidation
  • 5+ years of public and private accounting experience
  • CPA or CMA designation is a plus
  • Biotechnology industry experience is a plus
  • Experience with ERP accounting systems
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, V-lookups, nested IF statements, and macros
  • Solid understanding of technical accounting guidance and industry concepts
  • Ability to identify, research, and interpret complex accounting issues/problems and make recommendations
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to summarize and document analysis, conclusions, policies, and procedures in a concise and readable manner
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other department staff, management, vendors, and outside service providers

The pay range for this role is:

120,000 - 150,000 USD per year (Remote (United States))
