To address this, we're seeking a Supply Chain and Procurement Specialist with a vast network and the agility to navigate these challenges, ensuring our data centers are rolled out and maintained without delay.

About the role

The Supply Chain and Procurement Specialist will be a key player in our Data Center Operations team, responsible for procuring all necessary components for data center expansions and ongoing operations. This role requires an individual with an extensive network in the tech and data center equipment sector, capable of quick thinking and adaptability to overcome supply chain challenges. Working closely with the Data Center Architect, this specialist will ensure that parts and equipment are acquired timely, communicating feasible alternatives and adjustments to plans based on real-time supply chain dynamics.

What you'll do

  • Leverage an extensive network of suppliers and vendors to procure data center components, avoiding supply chain delays.

  • Work closely with the Data Center Architect to understand equipment and part requirements for new rollouts and existing data center maintenance.

  • Quickly identify and secure alternative solutions when original components are delayed or unavailable, ensuring no undue impact on project timelines.

  • Maintain constant communication with the Data Center Architect and operations teams, providing updates on procurement timelines and potential adjustments to plans.

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that enhance efficiency and reduce the risk of supply chain bottlenecks.

  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best terms and prices, maintaining a cost-effective approach without compromising on quality or delivery times.

  • Stay abreast of market trends and supply chain risks, proactively identifying issues that could impact data center operations.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain and procurement, preferably within the technology or data center sector.

  • Proven network of suppliers and vendors in the tech and data center equipment industry.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly adapt strategies to changing supply chain dynamics.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with both internal teams and external partners.

  • Experience negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships.

  • Knowledge of data center operations and component requirements is highly desirable.
